Today Boyfriend and I were suppose to have a gym date but he refused to come to my gym because “it was going to be packed with the resolution crowd” and worked out at home instead. I hit the gym mid-day when everyone was working so luckily I was in a nearly empty gym. Are YOU part of the resolution crowd at the gym? The ones that show up every January, only never to be seen again for the rest of the year? Well thank you very much because you guys made my boyfriend not want to work out with me!
I am against “New Years Resolutions” but I am all for making a lifestyle change. If you want to lose weight, you cannot just tell yourself to just go on a diet. Diets are short-term fixes and doesn’t set any grounds to help you continue the journey— soon you’ll find yourself reverting back to old ways, eating junk and NOT at the gym.
To successfully lose weight, you have to be healthy. To be healthy, you have to be prepared to go on a lifelong journey. When you make health your lifestyle, it will become as second nature as waking up and brushing your teeth in the morning.
Losing weight shouldn’t just be about being able to fit into your wedding dress— in fact, your goal shouldn’t be to “lose weight” but to “be healthy.” When you start living a healthy lifestyle, weight loss will naturally come with it and you’ll most likely keep it off while positively influencing all parts of your life. Stop making resolutions and start creating a long-term plan to change your life.
Throw away those excuses, change your taste buds, fall in love with exercise, be mindful of what you eat, have a positive mindset and surround yourself with the right people…
