Brush Essentials
In response to an email from M*:

MAC 187 • I cannot stress how versatile this brush is. This is the only brush I use on my face (maybe not only); moisturizer, foundation, blush and bronzer. It evenly coats your face with moisturizer, get a flawless look with liquid foundation (although I tend to go with mineral for almost-everyday use), picks up the right amount of pigment with bronzers and blushes (hold it at an angle if you want to contour). I’m in love.

Lumiere Kabuki • Okay I lied, the 187 isn’t the only brush I use on my face. I use Lumiere’s synthetic kabuki brush to apply mineral foundation; it bluffs and blends beautifully.

MAC 217 • Everyone needs a blending brush and nothing is better than the lovely 217.

MAC 219 • Like the 239, but small pencil brush for detailed shading on your crease and other precise areas, plus blending eyeliner for that smokey look.

MAC 239 • Picks up so much pigment to pack on your eyelid AND also blends beautifully. This and the 217 are usually the only brushes I need for the eyes so it helps to have more than one.

MAC 266 • Eyeliner anyone? My poor 266 is abused to the max with Fluidline (as you can see the ugly black mess on the tips).
I don’t use lip brushes so I don’t have much of a say on that.

The next brush on the shopping list is MAC 249 for my paint pots.
Invest more money on brushes, take good care of them and they should last you years.
