This weekend I…

  • lost my eyeliner AGAIN
  • lost my press powder AGAIN
  • lost my favorite lip gloss AGAIN (I was so depressed)
  • bought a new camera (Canon SD1100 in pink) and almost lost it too
  • almost left my Blackberry in the cab
  • got someone’s puke all over my favorite jacket
  • got kicked out of ATL and Aubar two nights in a row (well my girlfriend did)

… t’was one hell of a weekend.

I don’t know what’s wrong with me but the last couple of weeks, I’ve been having trouble putting on my fake eyelashes (it use to take only 2 minutes!!) … and I ripped a lot of it out when taking it off so I’m semi-eyelash-less right now. Gross? Yep. I also ruined my last two sets of my favorite Ardell lashes so I had to order more (got 4 new sets). I know I have a billion others but those were my favorite. :(

I started using this hair treatment that Boyfriend’s sister-in-law got for me from a beauty supplier because my hair was so fried and I’ve used it twice and it’s already made such a HUGE difference! I don’t remember the name of it but I’ll post it when I get home tomorrow evening; I think you need a salon license to actually buy it though. I’m excited because I want to nurse my hair back to health since I don’t plan on getting it professionally done until I go back to Asia [to do it] next year…. I’m thinking of dying it a dark espresso brown and let it grow out (but that also means I’ll need a new set of extensions for those special nights).

Haven’t been shopping in a while (aside from a camera and fake lashes), so next week I’ll be on a look-out for new boots and tunic sweaters.

I’ve been in such a bad mood all weekend (that is, until the drinks started hitting) and it’s funny because my cousins are here and they’re always here when I’m moody. I think it’s the lack of sleep and maybe because I’ve been in TOO good of a mood the last couple of weeks …being the bitter and pessimistic person that I am. It’s tiring man. I don’t know how you guys do it all the time.

GOOGLE CHROME (beta) WILL BE RELEASED TODAY! I’ll be installing it on my computer at work when I get to the office in a couple of hours if the download is released by then. Can’t wait to test it out!

Weekend in Review

Weekends

- went out for lunch with N & M to say goodbye to M
- went to Vancouver’s nastiest club a.k.a. Fabric and had to leave early because it was unbearably disgusting and sweaty in there (don’t understand why people go there… crowd and atmosphere isn’t even that great)
- was going to go to Cate Park to chill/BBQ for Boyfriend’s birthday except we went too late and decided to have a BBQ at his house instead (good thing because it started raining)
- went to driving range
- finished a book and bought another
- shopped and ebay’ed lots
- chilled with BF (well when do I not do this?)
- cleaned his room (took me 3 hours just to clean his desk alone!)
- watched lots of PPV
- wondered why some people like to go out so much (and claim they’re a “club-whore”) when they don’t even do anything when they go out (well obviously they only go for attention)
- next week will be the end of relaxation for me (back to work/freelancing)

Stuff I was suppose to do but didn’t do:
- upgrade WP (been putting this off for weeks, I know)
- get gel nails refilled
- design new site
- update CollectiveHaus.net
- buy new boots

  • slept till noon
  • finished a book (Empress by Karen Miller)
  • played with the kids
  • saw BFF since first grade
  • drove out to the middle-of-nowhere and back
  • went to Guu on Robsob on Sunday night (my favorite restaurant!)
  • went to Chinatown for the first time in like… 7 years
  • did some [online] shopping
  • went to airport to see part of his family off to Vietnam (while we’re stuck here working)

Uneventful, relaxing, happy. I need more weekends like this.

I was asking Boyfriend when we leave for Vietnam/Asia next year, are we going to get a huge farewell like last Saturday evening [when part of his family left on an extremely short-notice trip back] and he was like of course. Then I was like, “damnit.” My family won’t be there because when we drop people off at the airport, we just drop them off at the entrance and drive away (well that’s what I do…) but then I don’t think I want my parents meeting his anyway.

I’m envious of him because his family is so big, close and always have a good time together. It’s always a circus at his family parties because you’ll see the kids playing and chasing each other on one side, adults drinking and eating on the other and Boyfriend sprawled on the floor defeated with more kids jumping on him in the corner. I have a big family too but we’re all spread out and probably see each other (intermediate + extended family) like once a year verses Boyfriends family’s once a week. My parents, sister and I probably sit down to eat together like once or twice a month (and that’s usually when we go out for dim sum). Of course, this makes me eager to be part of his in the future even though they welcome me with open arms right now. :)

Books by Phillipa Gregory

My goals for the rest of this year is to buy and read all of Phillipa Gregory and Karen Miller’s books. Also, to catch up on at least some of the 100+ brand new, unread books on my bookshelf. Ah! It’s already August and I’ve only read 12 books this year!!! I was going to do a 50-book challenge but thank god I didn’t because I’ll have to hang my head in shame.

And about CollectiveHaus.net, it’s on a short hiatus because I’m too busy to update it right now plus when I’m not at work and/or freelancing, I’m trying to avoid going online. If you’ve sent me images, don’t worry they’ll be up next week or so.

Beach

  • Was all the planning-stress worth it? I guess so.
  • Do it again next year? After 3 years of it, NO. We’re getting a travel agent next time.
  • Like always, unfair share of housework.
  • But hot tub and sun made up for it (although it sounds a bit ironic together).
  • Beach: Saturday was hot and sunny. Sunday was a lot more windy so we chilled on the patio instead.
  • Went horseback-riding along the beach. Loved it.
  • Purchased and finished The Other Boleyn Girl (since I was so obsessed with the movie)! Five stars.
  • Lots of eating and breaking of diets (you cannot escape the food and candy!!).
  • Lots of shopping (although this wasn’t suppose to be a shopping trip). Totally successful.
  • Lots and lots of gossiping.
  • Hilarious car rides.
  • Favorite purchase was a Marilyn Monroe wall clock.
  • Found lots of nice jeans. ♥
  • Got stuck in rush hour traffic to the Coast AND back home (we obviously don’t learn).
  • Got home really late and still haven’t finished unpacking yet.
  • Don’t have to go back to work until Friday! :cheer:

BBQ'ing

Being lazy on a hot day.

My goal was to post an entry everyday this month and I’ve done that except on the first! There were days when I have my Wordpress opened and I just sat there staring at the screen with no words coming to my mind while I am half panicking because I want to write something and it’s almost 10am (my favorite time to write is around 9-9:30am, right before work). BUT blogging was never a chore to me and never will be. Writing is fun and relaxing plus I love researching if I have my mind set on writing about a certain topic.

I made a deal with Le Boyfriend today that every time I work out he will read 10 pages out of a book just for extra incentive. 8) Originally I chose Map of Bones for him but there are too many religious references (Catholic, Christian etc.) which I don’t think he will enjoy at all since his family is Buddhist. We walked into a Greek Orthodox church once because I wanted to see the architecture but he had to step out because he was uncomfortable being in a church! Anyway, I think I will choose Sandstorm for him to read just because I think that will be my favorite James Rollins book of all time (even though I haven’t read all of them yet) for the Middle Eastern setting and reference. Definitely the most interesting culture and history in my book. :D

Today I helped him change the brake pads on his brother’s car and I think it was the dirtiest thing I’ve ever done in my life. Never again. Well the only thing I did was hold this piece of metal so he can tighten it but the thing was freaking heavy and oil was spraying out of it (according to Elsa, the car was peeing). Not to mention, I was wearing my Molokos so I was so scared it would stain my jeans! Never NEVER again. Under those situations (no matter how simple my task is), I can offer no help without complaining like an over-sized baby with bleached blond hair. :duh: Sorry Lover! But on the positive side, I finally learned what the hell a break pad is and how it looks like since he loves to talk about his auto mechanics mumbo-jumbo while I just nod, smile and pretend to know what’s going on.

This morning I was too lazy to do my make up and we were running late so I just quickly brushed on the Rubenesque paint pot over my lids without primer underneath because I totally forgot and it actually didn’t budge at all! :lovestruck: Time to splurge on more paint pots. I’m so glad they are permanent so I don’t have to worry about them getting discontinued.

Anyway, I was cleaning my files on my computer and I came across some images from the Betsey Johnson Spring 2008 Collection. The whole collection was all about prom fun. Just thought I’d like to post my favorite pieces because they are absolutely adorable!

It’s almost 3am so I better get to bed before the Boyfriend kicks my ass! I always have a hard time getting up in the morning therefore making him almost* late for work everyday but I’m trying to turn into a morning person like him. x.x :D
