Personality Gift Winners

I had a contest way back in March and I actually drew the names of the winners but didn’t send the last gift out until a couple days ago because I’ve been super busy with work and freelancing lately. But the winners were Crystal and Kiera! I got Crystal a Hello Kitty Juicer just because it was fun and totally unexpected (plus she loves Hello Kitty stuff) and Kiera The Judas Strain by James Rollins because she mentioned she loves suspense novels and I would give people books any chance I get.

Reading is Sexy

books

I’m going to be sending a FREE copy of The Host by Stephenie Meyer to a registered member of 24c. It will be a random draw but of course there will be rules:

  • You have to be registered before today (June 1st, 2008).
  • Your account has been logged into within the last 5 months.
  • Pending registrations DON’T count.

For non-registered members, if you want a free book, comment on this entry and write a short paragraph on your blog about your favorite book, a quick synopsis (NO SPOILERS PLEASE!) and WHY you love it. If I get enough entries, I’ll select my favorite one and send you The Witching Hour by Anne Rice. Registered members can do this too to get a chance on getting TWO free books. Teeheehee. Rules are:

  • You must have a blog (WP, Facebook, Xanga, whatever, as long as it’s a blog) and write in it at least 2 times per week.
  • Blog about this contest and link back to this entry on 24c. The link is: http://twentyfourcarat.net/?p=1338

Books will be brand new and ordered from Amazon.

If you’ve already read any of these books, let me know and I’ll consider choosing another (you don’t get to pick). Why am I doing this?! BECAUSE I THINK EVERYONE SHOULD BE READING!!!!!!!!!! Everyone needs to appreciate and understand the value of books. 8) Look out for the winner(s) in a couple of weeks. ;)

EDIT —
Sorry but I forgot to add, I’ll be contacting the winners for their mailing addresses so make sure your email is valid! It’s up to you to give it to me or not (there is a chance I’ll be stalking you and showing up at your door with rubber duckies) but if you don’t, obviously your gift is forfeited.

DEADLINE: JUNE 15TH.

A Little Gift

Tracy is doing a little project on her blog where she will send a gift to two random people based on their personalities, and I thought this is an awesome way to interact with my visitors! Plus I LOVEE shopping and buying gifts for people. :)

Soooo… here’s the deal:

  1. Comment on this entry OR email me and write a couple sentences or even a paragraph (the more the better) about yourself, your personality and your interests. The only catch is that you have to have a blog and I have to somehow know you (eg. have I visited your blog before?).
  2. Email me your name and address. Don’t worry, I won’t give it to some creepy pedophile.
  3. In a couple days, I will write down everyone’s personality on pieces of paper and draw two people.
  4. I will then go out to buy them a present either locally or online just because I’m addicted to online shopping. The gift will be based on your personality and it could be anything; purchased, preowned, cheap or expensive. Don’t worry, I’ll try to refrain from sending anyone smelly socks unless their personality permits. :P

Just don’t expect a new refridgerator or something if you emphasize that you love to eat and fried chicken because shipping is freaking expensive. You MAY expect a bucket of fried chicken though.

Hehe. Kidding.

Writing with “Substance”

I find it so hard to actually write about something worth reading when I feel like I am forced to blog just because I haven’t in days. Actually, if I don’t blog everyday, I feel like I’m totally neglecting my blog! Yes I know, quality over quantity but I just can’t help it!

Most of my blog topics just come to me out of nowhere and in the weirdest places, usually when I’m not in front of the computer so I take notes on my cellphone and try to write about it later. You can ask Boyfriend how many times I’ve said to him, “Ooh I’m gonna blog about this!!” But yeah, if you read one of my posts containing mostly what I’ve done in the previous days in an extremely boring manner, then I’m having one of my “bad days.”

As you can tell, today is another one of my bad days. Sigh.

Anyway, a couple of days ago, a friend called me just to tell me a poem they read on a wall of an outhouse that they found extremely amusing (oh, how I love my friends):

Here I sit,
Broken-hearted.
Came to shit,
but only farted.
