My puppy’s (assuming she could write) because I always wonder what the hell she’s thinking.

Can’t think of anything specific but I’m not a huge fan of spicy foods … boyfriend threw a pepper into my rice bowl once and I ate it and was on the ground for like 2 hours dying. I can’t take the heat!!

If you were an inventor, what would you invent?
Something that would automatically wash and condition my make up brushes. Washing brushes is the biggest chore in the world when you have so many yet you can’t not do it.

My dream home would consist of Clive Christian’s furniture but I’d mix it up and modernize it a little more with Roberto Ventura’s designs.

I just want a nice SUV… nothing fancy. I love the Lexus RX400H.

I haven’t taken many vacations but my ideal vacation hot spots aren’t your typical beachy places but it’d be places where you can totally experience culture and has tons of history. I’d be sight-seeing and visiting old temples— not lying on a beach.

My computer hard drive (total nerd answer).

Favorite musicians?
SS501, Big Bang, 2PM, Epik High, Wonder Girls, Jinusean, etc. I remember I was obsessed with Korean hip hop back in my preteen days (the YG Family were my gods) and now the obsession is back but this time it has also spread to K-Pop— I have shamefully turned into what they call a “fan girl” once again. I also love Phil Collins, Bryan Adams, Cold Play and Lady Gaga but Asian music I can’t understand FTW (did I just say FTW?)!

If you had another profession beside your own, what would it be?
Either a hair stylist or something to do with fashion. I’d consider a professional blogger but I have a feeling I won’t enjoy it as much if it were to become a “job.”

What current trends would you like to see disappear?
Skinny jeans and converse and the most obvious … dun dun dun … ED HARDY. Don’t worry, I don’t judge people who wear Ed Hardy (haha) but I would just never wear it myself. Well, unless Boyfriend wears it then I’ll TOTALLY judge his ass because he should know better. Anyway, I came across another nasty trend that will be added to my list of hatred:

If you guys come to Vancouver, you have to go to Phnom Penh which serves authentic Cambodian and Vietnamese food because they have the BEST chicken wings (you have no idea how many people I got hooked onto them), butter beef (kind of like beef carpaccio) and Bo Luc Lac (filet beef on rice) EVER. It’s one of my favorite Asian restaurants in Vancouver!

Some people complain that the place is a little overpriced but for me; when it comes to food, you can’t put a price on it!!

Goodbye stupid QX4!! Boyfriend traded this car in so *T can buy his FX35 and I'm sooo glad he finally got rid of it! It was so useful for trips but a total gas guzzler and he rarely drove it anyway.

He's only 5 and every time we take J* to the movies, he always falls asleep but he didn't when we went to watch The Pink Panther 2. So we got him a cake to celebrate and him and his sister sang the 'Celebrate good times, come on' song with a little booty-shaking. It's a heart because we told him to choose the smallest one since there weren't too many people eating it.

Speaking of brand-whores, my boyfriend is slowly turning into one. He use to yell at me for spending $70+ on a t-shirt but he bought an expensive t-shirt and said, “whatever, it’s only $70.” Umm ok, hypocrite! I don’t think I was ever a brand-whore and neither was he; as long as the clothes look good but now he’s always checking the brand. As long as he doesn’t wear Ed Hardy, CA or any “gangster-wannabe” t-shirts with retarded designs on them, then I’m okay with it. At least he’s turning into more of a shopaholic now! Now, he can hold my bags AND shop with me. ♥

I decided to go all-over brown because anything else I wanted would’ve required bleach but I wanted all the old bleach to grow out first. My hair hasn’t been dark for 2 years… nor have I had bangs for 2 years so this will definitely need some time getting use to! I think it looks a lot better though because blond makes a lot of Asian complexions look really washed out. The thing with long brown hair (I’m wearing clip-on extensions) is that keeping it straight is boring so you have to curl it a little bit to make it look a little more dramatic and give it more volume. I’m a curl-virgin but my new curling iron arrived in the mail and I took advantage of last night to play with it and create some loose waves (I’m not a fan of tight spirals) and although it still needs some polishing it, I think it looks a lot better.

Guess what this Asian ghetto-ness is? I was too cheap and lazy to buy a nice jar.

• Random look from last week (right).
• I started designing a new theme which I probably won’t finish until like summer. Is it just me or is releasing new Wordpress themes such a pain-in-the-butt?
• We got the breakfast wrap back at work and we were all excited until we tasted some new fancy ingredients they put in there… the old one was better because it was simpler. Boo.
• Style Resolution updates: Prints? Fail. Change my purse more often? Fail (still carrying the same one I’ve been carrying since last November). Be more high maintenance? Fail.
• Still haven’t dyed my hair brown yet because I don’t know exactly what I want to do with it yet. What too dooo? Should I get blond lowlights? Should I get fusion hair extensions (definitely not braids)? Should I just stick with my clip-ons? Should I get straight bangs?

I’m on a bottle.

My Blackberry finally has a place on my desk.

Mochi likes to sit by the window and wait for my mom to come home.. and when she does, she jumps on the side table and gets stuck on there so she can’t run downstairs to greet her.

I know I said that I couldn’t wait to get home but I wish I was still in Cali; it was so hectic at times but fun. When we crossed the Canadian border, it started snowing like mad and I was so depressed because my feet got all wet in the snow carrying my 50lbs suitcase and 20lbs carry-on (I stuffed all my jeans in it) into the house. Hopefully we get to go again sometime this spring or summer!!

• The weather in L.A. was pretty good but it rained on Christmas day when we went to Disneyland! It poured when we got there but that’s about it; the rest of the day was dry… but kinda miserable because my socks were wet and Disneyland was sold out of socks (and umbrellas). Nevertheless it was worth it and our plastic sheets kept us dry… this is when you totally have to sacrifice fashion.

  

• I almost lost my camera at Disneyland!!!! It flew out of my pocket on Splash Mountain but luckily when I went back, they found it in the car and just took it to lost and found. Then I almost left my bag on the Indiana Jones ride with all our passports in it… we could’ve been stuck in Cali if L didn’t get it for me. Oh noez!
• L and I tricked Boyfriend to go on a ride at Universal Studios… and he never goes on rides!
• Finally ate at Tony Romas (we always wanted to try it but always put it off). It was alright, nothing great.
• The 8 hour drive from Cabazon to Sacramento wasn’t bad at all with red bulls, coffee and random Q&A with the boyfriend (he drove the entire way but I just stayed up with him). I found out his favorite flower is the sunflower… like WTH, how boring is that?! I’m sorry Boyfriend, but your girlfriend is a designer so you gotta come up with something more unique than that.
• NEVER leave your GPS at home. We had to follow these people when driving through San Jose and San Francisco because we forgot to bring it and didn’t know where we were going… ALL DAY.
• There’s were 40+ people staying in the house we stayed in Sacramento so the first night we all slept in the living room and I dreamt of this huge cargo ship with it’s horn blasting every couple seconds and I was so annoyed that I was about to bitchslap something in my dream. I woke up and it turned out to be someone snoring hella loud!! I seriously couldn’t stop laughing about it in the morning but that night, I barely got any sleep. Luckily the rest of the nights, I scored my own bed.
• Watching a Vietnamese wedding is a unique experience… now I gotta watch a Chinese wedding because I haven’t been to one since I was 6 and I don’t remember anything.

  

• Never drink an entire bottle of Grey Goose on vacation or else the next day would be a total waste since you’ll be stuck hung-over in bed all day.
• Being hung-over and squished in the back of a tiny Honda Civic with 4 people is the worse feeling in the world… especially when you’re in Sacramento and everything is so far apart.
• …there are a lot of ants in Cali.
• I ate more fast food in the 10 days we were there than I usually do in an entire year. It’s a grossly satisfying feeling.
• CARNE ASADA FRIES AND IN N OUT BURGERS ARE THE SHIT!! I tried both for the first time and YUM. What are Carne Asada fries my fellow non-Californians? They are fries layered with meat, cheese, guacamole, sour cream and hot sauce = FKING HEAVEN!!
• I actually finished the two books I brought on the trip so I went out to buy Eragon and Eldest. IT’S SO GOOD. Damn, now I gotta wait for book three to come out in paper back.
• I started saying “hella” too in the past year and I realized that I picked it up when we went to Cali last year. It’s so true how they say you start picking up the “Cali accent” after being here for a long time.
• Americans don’t say eh … they say huh. “You want some carne asada fries huh?” That’s a little weird for me, I think I’ll stick with the Canadian way.
• Somebody asked us if we celebrate the same New Year. Now THAT was hilarious!
• When the clock hit 12, we were still on the I5 going home but we got to see 4 different sets of fireworks from the freeway (don’t ask why we were flying back on that day… it’s a long story). The last 10 days in Cali was totally worth the countdown to 2009 in the car so I’d do it again anytime!

I am in love with Cali but I seriously need to get over my non-existent level of patience before ever considering moving down there. Before, I never wanted to move to L.A. because I thought it was always hot/warm there and I wouldn’t be able to wear my winter stuff but it’s actually kind of chilly especially at night. Also, the houses in Sacramento are so big, new, cheap and some are in cute little communities surrounding a man-made lake. I wouldn’t mind living there either.

Reasons why I shouldn’t move to Cali:

• I absolutely cannot stand the traffic. We got stuck on the freeway for three hours before we were smart enough to find an alternate route with our GPS because we thought it would end soon… but it was STILL crawling along when we were driving back to L.A. four hours later. It’s sad because nothing happened — no accidents or anything… there were just too many damn cars!! Our highways in Canada have like 2-3 lanes and we NEVER get traffic like that. LOL. That was 3 hours of wasted shopping time by the way. The second time we went to Cabazon to shop, we went on like 6 different freeways via GPS to escape the traffic but the detour only added 10 minutes to our total trip time so it was all good.
• Sacramento is plagued with four-way stops. I got soooo annoyed driving through all of them and we were on a big street too. That so doesn’t make sense!! Like P said, “no cop, no stop.”
• Everything is soo far away from each other —well in the Sacramento area at least.

SHOPPING. I actually didn’t buy much because I spent most of my cash on jeans. I was pretty depressed though when I found out I forgot to buy the Kassandra Varnish Fumes Blue (the purple version of the pair with the green R’s) because we went to there twice and I thought I bought it the first time but I didn’t! I was mainly looking for TRs but I didn’t find many styles that I actually liked so I only bought a pair of skinnies to go along with my boots. I don’t feel guilty about this splurge at all because I haven’t bought any new pairs of jeans since August… now all I gotta do is order more crystals so I can start customizing them. I also bought a Bare Escentuals starter kit in Medium; I love my Lumiere mineral foundation but I lost my last jar and my Clinique foundation is too light for my skin tone so I decided to hop on the bandwagon to see what this huge fuss was all about. I also stocked up on UDPP, bought a new Dior pressed powder and puppy pee pads for Mochi like I always do every time we go to the states. Other purchases included a lot of tops, leggings, accessories from Bebe, F21 and Wet Seal (we didn’t have time to go into many stores since we were stuck in traffic every time we tried to go shopping and line ups were insanely long), random make up from Sephora, books, Aldo flats and black Jessica Simpson pumps from Nordstrom… and a LOT of food and Starbucks.

My favorite were L’s HELLO KITTY RAIN BOOTS because they’re freaking adorable! I’m SO jealous and would’ve totally purchased a pair if I was still in school or taking public transit to work but since I drive and park underground, I’m rarely outside so I would have no reason to wear them. Hey at least I saved myself $80.

Oh, how can I forget the fashion faux-pas that I purposely committed?! I WORE JEANS TO THE WEDDING! Well not to the formal Vietnamese ceremony but only to the reception. T wore her new Rocks so I was like WTF, no fair I want to wear mine too, so I pulled off the tags, threw them on last minute and tucked them into my boots; I didn’t really feel guilty because it was the reception and everyone was going to be drunk anyway. I bought a dress that I didn’t even wear because I never found shoes for them and I realized how short and slutty it was. If it was a friend’s wedding, I’d totally wear it (just because we all swing that way) but not to one where Boyfriend’s parents are present. I still wore all black to the morning ceremony… but I didn’t care because I just wanted my red hair to stand out. But anyway, not to say I’m proud of my fashion faux-pas but honestly I wouldn’t care what anyone wears to my reception as long as it’s not WHITE, too bummed out and as long as they don’t upstage me (or go home biatch).

Boyfriend and I were like the rebels because I wore jeans and he refused to wear a suit jacket and even left his tie in the car for the reception.

I’m soo excited for Cali! There were a lot last year we didn’t have time to do so hopefully we can squeeze it in this year. I was hoping to go to Pink’s pow wow and even talking to Boyfriend about changing our plane tickets so we can go earlier… but then it’s too late to take any days off work. Have fun though ladies!

Sorry everyone, your Christmas cards might get to you after Christmas because there were some shipping difficulties when I got them sent to me (I knew I should’ve written “Merry Belated Christmas” on them) and the colors are messed up! They were suppose to be a light blue, but it turned out way less saturated. My fingers are also forever cramped from writing 100+ cards since I haven’t written that much since high school but I’ll try to send them off tomorrow morning before I go to work. Mailing internationally went up 70 cents since the last time I snail-mailed overseas!!

• Lock up all the vanilla flavored granola bars in my desk. They always mysteriously disappear and the culprit always leaves me the blueberries and strawberries which I don’t like very much. (Note-to-self: next time don’t buy in bulk!)
• Buy tire insurance if you’re an idiot like me (especially if it’s cheap). When I got a set of new tires earlier this year, the guy asked me if I wanted insurance just in case something happens (eg. hit the curb and it rips); it was only like $10 more since Boyfriend knew him but I said “no, who the hell hits the curb?!!! A couple weeks later when it started snowing and the roads were icy, I didn’t slow down enough on a right turn (since I was coming from the highway), skidded and smashed a tire on the curb… not only did I ruin the tire, I hit so hard I damaged a couple more parts inside my car and it cost $3gs to fix.
• When the toilet seat cover is closed… head to another stall or you might find a nice little surprise.
• Always get Christmas cards printed ONE MONTH before Christmas— meaning have them arrive at your door one month ahead if you’re printing from an online printer.
• ALWAYS carry hand sanitizer. I opened a door at the mall the other day and got some gooey booger like stuff all over my hands.
• Always carry a nail clipper/ file and bandaids. Especially if you have weakass nails from going to the nail salon too much. And also invest in a bottle of OPI Nail Envy.
• Don’t overcook seafood when attempting to make Korean Seafood Pancakes; I did this last night and totally failed but at least it was my first time. It didn’t taste too bad though even though I was setting myself for disappointment when my lovely Korean friend informed me that you can’t really get it to be that restaurant-like crispyness unless you use a lot of oil (which I didn’t want to do) and have a better grill.
• Never take on the task of taking care of 5 or more kids at once with less than 2 adults.
• Don’t let your dog fall asleep beside your head. Especially when you hay fever or sinus problems.
• No matter how many times you read over your blog entry before publishing, you will always find spelling/grammar mistakes in it when you look back at them a year later.

• Drank a can of Philippine Brand Mango Juice and a small bottle of freshly blended Cyoni smoothie instead of the daily Nutri-V Lemon Green tea I drink everyday. Gasp! I like to think I started the Nutri-V Green tea phase at work… I even got the cafeteria to start ordering more bottles of the lemon flavored ones because before they ordered shizzloads of the honey flavored which not too many people drank (and like 5 lemon flavored bottles with each shipment). But hey, I did something crazy today and went outside of the box. Ahahaha ……..sad.
• I finally caught up on 4 season of Grey’s Anatomy and now I know why everybody likes that show: sex-filled, bloody drama where everybody does everybody! Don’t hate me but I think Meredith, Izzy, McDreamy and Lexie are sooo annoying (I can’t stand overly-emotional and unstable people/characters) but bitchy, cold, sarcastic and unemotional people like Christina and Bailey rocks and are so much more interesting to watch.
• Thinking of starting House just because none of my clients have gotten back to me yet (need approvals before moving on) so I have some free time before I start to have no life again.
• Learned how to make this spicy tofu dish that I love. Yay, one step closer to being a housewife! Hah yeah right. I’m just going to hire a maid and a chef when I get married… I don’t do the domestic stuff and the only thing I actually like to cook are scrambled eggs (like Martin Yan said, “quick and easyâ€? does it).
• Was still craving for a Monty Mushroom burger and today yesterday was a perfect excuse to force feed Boyfriend White Spot food since he won’t go otherwise (he prefers Asian food or good steaks) and he couldn’t complain! Hah. How classy… but I was too tired to dress up to go out for dinner tonight, plus we got free cake (which we were too full to eat). But anyway, burger review time: it sucked! Totally NOT satisfied and they changed it!
• Did not get any sleep at Boyfriend’s since I was trembling under the blankets all night waiting for some ghost to jump on me because his house was abnormally “eery-feeling.” I swear I thought I saw shadows and heard weird noises. Someone close just passed away and I believe in ghosts.
• Bought a new dress
• Bought a very graphic book on sexual positions.

Okay, I’m just kidding, the Kama Sutra sex book is just a gag gift for our friends who are getting married.

• Fell in love with the weather when it became cold and wet… time to pull out the jackets, scarves and boots!! Actually I already started weeks ago… when it was still sunny. I’m sorry but I couldn’t wait any longer. Anyway, I’m lucky I’m not in school anymore or else I’d be complaining 24/7 since I’d be bussing in the rain!
• Pigged out like crazy and gained back all the weight I lost (when Boyfriend went on vacation). This is what happens when you have a boyfriend… all you do is eat. Plus his mom’s home-cooked Vietnamese food is sooo good.
• Went for dim sum and FINALLY got my chicken feet. Mmm. Total satisfaction.
• Went to an Asian supermarket and went crazy with junkfood, green tea, snacks …and 2 chickens.
• Watched Traitor, Pulse (retarded but I was in a mood for a “scary” movie) and Nim’s Island. Nim’s Island has been on PPV for weeks and I can’t believe I never watched it until now… it’s one of those guilty pleasure kids’ movies that I love.
• Had the most satisfying bubble tea. Ever. At Bubble Queen in Richmond.
• Learned how to say “I don’t know how to speak Vietnamese” in Viet because some people in Boyfriend’s family keep on forgetting and I’m just standing there nodding awkwardly and pretend I know what’s going on while they babble away… then I run away when they turn around. Now my Viet vocabulary has expanded from “eat rice,” “go home,” “pussy-face” and “noodles.”
• Went on a hunt for Asian fashion magazines.
• Resisted the temptation to buy more books. It was hard because even Boyfriend was nice about it when I said I wanted to go to Chapters (since it IS my third home). He usually complains and acts as if it’s the end of the world.
• Worked, worked, worked and worked. Managed to roll out 4 mock ups.

Mochi a little frazzled after rolling around my bed and needing a hair cut (I was washing my sheets so that’s why my bed is bare).

Forward to a couple months later a.k.a. right now, the topic of “who is Mochi’s real owner?!” is a topic we ALL avoid at our house because my parents (especially Mother) LOVES her to death. Thank god because now my sister and I don’t ever have to bring up the truth (that we all know, but don’t speak about). Of course, my extremely smart and observant grandmother was the first one to say to me, “you bought that dog didn’t you?” and then she asked me why didn’t I get a cuter dog!!! So I accused her of calling Mochi ugly (she was just kidding of course)! Her idea of a cute puppy is probably a white or light-colored puppy and probably a Shitz Zhu or something. But I wanted a black puppy because I know most girls would probably want a white one and I don’t like being “most girls.”

But my Momo is still soo cute! She’s grown from about 1.5lbs to 4lbs, her eyes are no longer blue though and these were pics before she got a hair cut (she looks all ruffled in the third one because she was rolling around). Sorry, pics are blurry because my camera is broken.

Her hobbies include:

• still peeing on the ground (right beside her pee-box, not in it)…
• …and then running away to hide under the couch everytime we catch her
• playing with Elmo
• being spoiled
• begging for food
• barking at big dogs
• sleeping at the top of the couch

My biggest fear is her getting fat (like a dog I know)! My mom keeps on giving her food and treats but thankfully she jogs with my dad everyday. Poor thing.

Good thing that my sister is taking care of her and training her because I’m usually not at home. If she finds a summer job then Mochi will be screwed because she’ll be stuck at home with my dad all day who likes to shine a flashlight in her face when she least expects it and gives her false hope when he turns off the light when she is trying to chase it.

But at least I know my parents secretly love her. I found out that my mom was bitten by a dog when she was young so that’s why we don’t have pets but I think she’ll be able to warm up to Mochi. She lied to us all these years and told us they were allergic (just like how they promised to take us to Disneyland when I was 5, 7, 8, and 10 but I didn’t get to go until I was 14).

I hope to teach her the phrase “Mochi, go take a shit” soon and also teach her to hump Boyfriend’s legs when she sees him (just because it will be funny) except I don’t even know if female dogs even do that.

I originally wanted a male puppy but we ended up falling in love with Mochi. She’s sooo damn moody though and gets pissed off at you and totally ignores you if you put her back in her kennel but that’s what we get for getting a female. Oh well, she’s my 420 bitch! At least I’ll never forget the day I bought her home. LOL.
