Late Night Updatezzz

Tofino Tofino
Tofino

Accommodations are booked for both Tofino and Oregon! N and I, being as shallow as we are, looked through a gazillion houses to rent in Oregon with a hot tub and BBQ, and of course, it has to look clean with nice furnishing and finishing (eg. no ugly green carpeting). LOL. All of the nice ones that were our first choice weren’t available on our dates but we finally found an okay one for $250/night, plus, it’s new too! The only thing is that it’s in a residential neighborhood and it’s not beachside but at least the house itself is nice and we’ll all get our own beds. Too bad it’s a 7-hour drive. Oh well. It shall be worth it.

And here’s a tip, especially when looking for accommodation in Tofino… BOOK FREAKING EARLY! We usually book in March when going to Tofino, but this year, we decided to go last minute and just booked a couple weeks ago so everything I wanted was gone! This year’s cabin doesn’t even have a hot tub! Boo.

Make Up

My mini-order of make up arrived today! I had 5 Mac Show Coral Chromeglass in my basket, but I decided to place the order the next day and only 2 were left!! Boo. Oh well, I got myself a couple and also stocked up on Origins Faux Glow.

Anyway, we went to Seattle on Sunday morning to shop, and we were planning to stay overnight, but we ended up coming home that night because we were so tired and was totally shopped-out in Seattle. When I think of it, we should’ve just driven the rest of the way to Portland that night and stayed overnight there. Oh well, I think I saved myself at least $500 by coming home early! Good news is that I bought a portable GPS (along with a lot of Gatorade, a couple skirts, tops, accessories, Sephora stuff and a lot of Crest White Strips) so we never get lost again, like the last time I went to Seattle with N & M.

*in the car:
“Mmm it smells like fried rice in here…”
“Dude it smells like manure.”

*eating Korean food:
“What are you talking about… there’s some squid left…”
“That’s a freaking carrot!!”

Summer Planning

airplane We have no huge trips planned for this summer, but only small “weekend + a couple of days” trips, nevertheless I’m excited! Those are much more fun and you can go in bigger groups just because it’s close by and we’re going by car. Of course, I have to go back to Tofino this summer (they all want to go surfing but I’m just gonna lie around on the beach all day with a nice book assuming that it doesn’t rain!!). I just booked our cabin earlier this week from the same vacation rental company we always use just because their cabins are BEAUTIFUL and have direct beach access. Tofino ’06 was the best vacation ever! I can’t wait to relive it… minus all the girls (except for N) and the “unsoberness”… which just leaves the sun, ice cream and the beach. HEHE. But yeah, if you’ve never been to Tofino, I suggest you go because it’s just that lovely there.

Tofino

As for the girls, I’m planning a trip down to the Oregon Coast during the August long weekend just because it will be a different experience than the last couple of years in Tofino (aka spend more money because we are in tax-free Oregon). I want to go to the dune buggy-ing and do lots of horseback-riding but I’m still looking for the perfect accommodation though because most of the ones in Oregon seems to be normal homes but I’m looking for those beautiful rustic cabins like the ones you can find in B.C. Plus it’s gotta be isolated, have a hot tub and easy beach-access. Talk about picky! I’m not looking forward to the 7 hour drive but it’ll be worth it… plus we are staying overnight in Seattle on the way back to shop! What I love about all-girls’ trips is that it’s more intimate; we can sit around the kitchen table and gossip until morning and do whatever the heck we want like be drunken idiots running around nekkid while trying to build a roof for our hot tub in the rain. Fun stuff.

Boyfriend and I were planning to go back to Cali this summer and go to Catalina Island with his cousins but they are now planning to go to Vietnam for most of the summer. They tried to convince us to go but hell no! I don’t feel like dying near the equator this summer and besides, we are going there early next year… but that’s another story.

The good thing with vacations (close and faraway) nowadays is that you can find extremely cheap packages to almost anywhere. Plus if you live in Canada and are looking for vacations and flights to USA, driving to a nearby American city and flying from there will save you tons of money. Websites like Dialaflight.com (which is actually from the UK) offers useful travel information and ideas, flight/hotel/car bookings, etc. All you need to do is look up what you want and then call a consultant who will do the rest for you. Don’t you just love the internet?

Did you just step on my head?

Thank you for all your responses in my last entry. I’m glad my readers are all so open-minded.

Anyway, I’ve been feeling like shit on a stick the whole day today. My head was pounding all day like somebody just stepped on it. I swear my whole body had needles sticking in it and I could barely keep my eyes open although I didn’t really feel tired at all. Don’t ask me how that’s possible but it is.

It looks like we might go to Tofino again this summer! This will be my only trip this summer aside from going to the Oregon Coast in August with the girls and probably lots of random shopping trips to the states with Boyfriend throughout the summer. Boyfriend wants to go to New York for a week but I declined his invitation. What? Did I just decline an invitation to piss off Boyfriend by over-spending and stumble drunk in Times Square?! BUT I think I’d rather save up and go to Asia… I swear I’ll need at least 20gs to invade Asia, knowing my shopping habits and because we plan on going everywhere. Being Asian, I think Asia is a lot more culturally-interesting than New York anyway. We can always go to NY but I won’t always have the chance of always being able to go back to Asia. Sometimes I wish I was one of those spoiled Honger kids who flies back to HK for a weekend.

Anyway, please don’t proceed if you get can’t take criticism, get offended easily or is just overly-sensitive.

Happy New Year!

Gong Hei Fat Choi!
Chuc Mung Nam Moi!

I try to say Chuc Mung Nam Moi to Boyfriend’s parents every year but I can never remember it and usually end up saying something like “chuk num man moy.” Being Chinese is so much easier.

Aren’t you a rat?
Yes.
