It’s January which means everyone is being packed into the gym like sardines. If you’re just getting started (or just want more ideas and inspiration), here are some of my favorite health and fitness related blogs.

Body Rock – This is my favorite site for work out videos (why spend hundreds of dollars on DVDs?). Zuzana’s work out videos are KILLER, short, effective and leaves me crippled the next day which I love. She’s also proof that you don’t need to go to a gym to get a fit and lean body.

Fitness Spotlight -This is just an overall awesome blog full of tips, facts and challenges. I spent like 5+ hours going through their archives when I first stumbled on it.

Cranky Fitness – Another one of my absolute favorites and is written by women. I love fitness blogs written by women because it’s easier to relate to and less entries on how to get big and bulky muscles.

James Kerrison – Not updated as often as I like but the articles published are absolute gems.

Mark’s Daily Apple – Has very informative articles that are obviously very throughly researched, with lots of statistics and facts. If you really want to get educated, hit up this blog!

Fit Bottom Girls – Fun and lighthearted fitness blog for women (and men) written by women. Has a too many seemingly sponsored posts for my liking but the rest of the articles are worth the read.

StyleQuotient.ca – Started by the fabulous Sunny Shum and Paul Melo, who knew Vancouver was so stylish? This is one of my favorite fashion blogs.

BeeCreative.ca – Office-monkey by day and ninja by night, Kym’s blog is awesome, Kym is even more awesome and makes the coolest t-shirts. Got mirk?

BunnieBar.com – Self-described “newbie” blogger but it didn’t seem like it when I first stumbled onto her blog. Everyone has a hidden BUNNY in them.

LifeOfPi.ca – There’s not too many insightful male bloggers who blog about everything from finance to the disgusting muffin tops and old Nammer moms in skin-tight clothing plaguing our city. Definitely a must-read.

KrystalAtWork.com – “Give Me Back my 5 Bucks” is a personal finance blog of a woman who was $17,000 in debt and managed to bring the number down to zero in less than a year. Impressive, much?

marie-antoinettequeenoffrance.blogspot.com – Want in on the biggest scandals and gossip of the 18th century? Marie Antoinette’s Gossip Guide to the 18th Century is one of my favorite historical blogs at the moment because I’m a huge history freak and there’s nothing I love doing better than… reading random articles about history (I go through different phases of being obsessed with different times in history and am currently on the 18th century). Totally geek, I know.

ahanhbarbie.blogspot.com – Hanh is one of my favorite Youtubers because she has the best hair tutorials and the sexiest hair in the world (not to mention she’s hot). *envious stare here* Not too long ago, she announced on Twitter that she FINALLY started a blog so I just had to add her to the list.

147xxxx.tumblr.com – Ah, the wonderful life of a Starbucks barista. Find out what goes on behind the scenes of the counter and funny stories about their weirdest customers (like the ones that bathes themselves in their washroom). Be nice to the baristas next time you drop by Starbucks… they’re real people too— not just ones you bitch at when you don’t have your morning dose of expresso.

dirtontherocks.com – Whose Abby? A sexy soon-to-be-mama and was one of those fabulous beauty bloggers who have added a more personal touch to her blog by getting her own domain (LOVE the name by the way!). I’ve been following Abby’s blog for a while and I’m loving it more and more.

bravotv.com/tamra-barney – This is a what you call a REAL guilty pleasure blog. Do you watch The Real Housewives of Orange County? This one is written by “the hottest housewife” a.k.a. Tamra Barney and let me tell you, this girl is FREAKING HILARIOUS!! Her blog is funny and sarcastic and although she disappointed me last season, you still gotta love herl. All the housewives are fake to the max but we still love them anyway (except for the NYC ones… they’re quite boring) and there’s a strange satisfaction of watching the rich go through their drama and waste their money on botox and boob jobs.

misscindee.blogspot.com – I’ve finally reunited with the beautiful Cindee! We met a lot time ago on Xanga and her blog use to be a daily read and then I don’t really know what happened but I’m glad she’s back on my blogroll again. She’s a hot and talented fashion designer with a unique sense of style and runs an awesome fashion blog in which she uses to inspire fashionistas all around.

teaattrianon.blogspot.com – Elena Maria Vidal is the author of Trianon
and Madame Royale
which tells the tragic tales of my favorite people: King Louis XVI, Queen Marie Antoinette and their daughter, Marie Therese. They are fictional but leans more to the truth than the dramatized versions of Marie Antoinette’s life by Sofia Coppola. The blog on the other hand is filled with interesting articles about life in, and around royal court and other interests of Vidal.

listaddicts.blogspot.com – Right after I announced that I wanted to turn my blog into somewhat of a “list blog”… I stumbled upon The Secret Society of List Addicts! Damn, I didn’t come up with the idea first!! But whatevs, I don’t think my lists could be entertaining and as fun to read as the lists in this secret society’s.

justbento.com – If I weren’t so lazy I’d be obsessing with the creation of uber-cute bento boxes… but there is just one other problem. I DON’T COOK. Well I can still look right. Boyfriend is going to start this business soon and I was telling him that when he does, I’m going to make him cute Hello Kitty bento boxes to bring to work (which, he can share with his employees) and he looked at me, totally mortified, shook his head and turned away.
Note-to-self: I should also send this to my sister. She goes through those phases about obsessing over something, totally getting into it and then totally ditching it a couple weeks later (eg. hamsters, fish, cookies, etc). Maybe I’d get a couple week of bento boxes from it, especially now that my parents have left for Asia again.

rebelliousarabgirl.net – Mona is the crazy Arab girl everyone loves to hate because of her outspokenness but I love people who aren’t afraid to speak their mind and go against the tide. Imagine if the web was filled with happy people who are always blogging about how much they love each other and how perfect the world is… how dull and unrealistic that would be? It’s like comparing the Kate (Jon and Kate Plus 8) and Michelle (18 Kids & Counting). If you didn’t get that, Michelle is eff’ing boring but Kate knows how to add drama to TV no matter how bitchy and naggy she is.

sydentherese.com – Sy is one of my new favorite bloggers. She’s an amazing writer and knows how to captivate readers with her entries and her fictional stories. I also absolutely LOVE her Polyvore Fiction on Fridays. She needs to write a book and I’d be her biggest fan!

injen.wordpress.com – When I go to Jen’s blog, I sometimes think it’s my own. Is it the traditional Blix Wordpress theme that I’ve used countless times before and is still my favorite WP themes or is it that her blog entries and personality is similar to mine? I think it’s both!

thedemigoddess.blogspot.com – You know how they say first impressions count? Well it’s true when it comes to blogging because the first entry that caught my eye at Angel’s blog was this entry and now I’m a huge fan of the insights from THE Demigoddess.

treslola.com – Lots of great lifestyle (and everything else) tips, advice and just interesting (and useful) entries in general. You can call Tres Lola “daily-therapy.â€?

amourchaleur.com – Dayna’s blog is a mash of creativebeautifulcutecolorfulhappy. Of course her design is what caught my eye; her attention to detail is amazing! Everything is styled on her blog to match her theme from the the bullets to the borders of her images. Her text is formatted how I would think an ideal blog would be (especially the leading) and then on top of all that, I think her entries are a pleasure to read as well.
