- Skinny is not a compliment. I don’t workout to be thin— I workout to be strong, fast and fit.
- I DO workout to look good, although “thin” is not my definition of good.
- Yes, I add spinach to my shakes.

- I fucking love tofu, spinach, cabbage and celery.
- But I hate chicken breast.
- And I love poutine.
- I don’t care if you’re morbidly obese, fat or skinny-fat. I understand people have different views on the ideal body type but I do encourage people to get into a fit and happy lifestyle, because it’s a life-changing experience.
- I plan workouts my work outs before heading to the gym… 60 burpees, 100 squats, 200 wall balls… nothing excites me more. Seriously.
- But I do not believe in mediocrity. If you want to workout with me, do not slack off, do not cheat on your reps, do not deviate from the plan to make it easier, and don’t ever quit. Nothing annoys me more than people who are all talk. If you want to get fit, prepare to work for it.
- Just because I’m always writing about health and fitness doesn’t mean I’m an anal health-freak. I indulge, and I indulge A LOT. I just workout harder the next day. Life is about sacrifices and I make mine at the gym.
- To me, being sore and not being able to get out bed the next day is the best feeling ever.
This is my body, and I can do whatever I want to it. I can push it; Study it; Tweak it; Listen to it. Everybody wants to know what I am on. What am I on? I am on my bike busting my ass six hours a day; What are YOU on? – Lance Armstrong
What are YOUR fitness truths?

First: Awesome new layout! Inspires me to finally come up with a new look for my blog (eventually hehe).
Second: I would loooove to have you as a workout buddy if I lived closer to you! I agree that I don’t strive to be skinny, but just feel confident within my own skin. I get satisfaction out of dancing for half an hour even if I look like I made a fool out of myself. I’m the type of girl who will never be able to let go of her addiction to strawberry kiwi juice but lately I’ve been drinking more and more water. My greatest satisfaction when I work out is sweating and feeling my muscles working and thanking me when I stretch. OK, I’m going to work out now

Like the new layout!
And you don’t like chicken breast? For some reason that’s pretty suprising — I’ve yet to meet some one who

I effing hate chicken breast! I would NEVER order it in a caucasian restaurant because it’s almost always dry– give me a tenderloin please. If I’m eating chicken, I’d rather eat dark meat … or fried chicken. Plus I love the skin. Good thing I don’t eat chicken that much though. Hah.

…does, I was about to say as I hit the enter key and post before I’m finished.

I wish I had a female fitness buddy that had at least half the mentality as you have!
“To me, being sore and not being able to get out bed the next day is the best feeling ever.”
I agree! I think it’s a satisfying feeling. If I’m not sore, it means I need to pick up the slack!

Or maybe we are just fit.
I find that it takes me a LOT to get sore or I have to do a workout that I’ve never done before or haven’t done in a long time (eg. my first time doing an intense workout with overhead kettlebell swings… ouch).

Goddamn you are a machine!
Skinny is not always good.
Correct me if I’m wrong but if people want to work out to look and feel better, they should aim for getting a “tighter” body, not a thinner one. Tight doesn’t equate to thinness. You can be on the thicker side yet have a perfect, tight body because of the exercise.

Thin only looks good with clothes on… but looks sick and digusting naked. Fit all the way!

I love the new layout! I admit I’m pretty bipolar when it comes to fitness. One time I’m so into it like there’s no turning back then the next I just wanna eat and sleep. It’s a freaking cycle, I’ve got my determination and make myself suffer until buckets of sweat but it’s my consistency that’s really lacking. I wish you were my gym buddy so you’d tell me off on these stuff! Haha.

Consistency use to be the problem too but I got past that when I pushed myself to go consistently AND started seeing results. Results really give you that extra push!

LOVE the new layout!
And wow… I think I would be a bit terrified to work out with you, but maybe I’ll get my dedication to fitness up there one day. Right now, I’m taking baby steps with just trying to go regularly. Once I get that down, I’ll start planning something more than just running or going to a fitness class, lol.

There is so much truth here. I can’t stand it when people moan and groan about being fat but don’t do anything about it. Even worse is that there are blogs and sites promoting being skinny and others defending fat people. Why can’t we just focus on being fit?

I love that sore feeling too, but don’t love the process of getting that soreness. LOL…
