83-years-oldĀ Bette Calman is living proof that theĀ ancient art of yoga can do wonders on the human body.
Bette Calman has been practicing and teaching yoga for the last 40 years and, although other people her age can hardly move anymore, she can pool of difficult yoga moves that put teenagers to shame. She can execute the āpeacockā a difficult position in which the body is held horizontally, using only the power of the arms,Ā the ābridgeā, ālotusā and can stand on her head with unnatural ease.
Asked when she is going to retire,Ā Calman said
āYouāre never too old. The body is a remarkable instrument.
āIt can stretch and stretch, and get better all the time. Forget ageā
Ms Bette Calman teaches up to 11 classes every week, in Williamstown, Australia, teaching others the remarkable effects ofĀ yoga.

WOW. That is amazing..
How old is she?

I love reading about these stories for two reasons:
1. People are never to old to do something extraordinary
2. They’re just inspiring overall
Really motivating to see a lady at such an age display such body discipline. :]

YAY!! By the way, I usually don’t wear my glasses or contacts at the gym and always have my iPod blasting so I don’t see or hear you, throw a towel at me or something. When do you think you’ll come?

That is amazing! I want to be able to do that now let alone when I’m 60.

WOW, hello new to your site but WOW lol first thing I see when i come here is this dope layout and this post and i still havent picked up my jaw yet lol. This woman is CRAZY that is amazing. Big ups to her forreal its a shame that i probably cant do that and im no where NEAR 83 haha. But it goes to show that at a old age you dont exactly have to be old and weak, if you dont work out and dont move your body and get lazy then.. you most likely will be. That goes for young ages as well.

Woah! That’s super inspiring Katy! Thanks for posting this. Seriously, this lady is walking proof that we can still be soooo physically healthy at such an advanced age.
My ex-boyfriend only does yoga and has been doing it for decades. I remember this one guy (about 15-20 years younger than my ex) was amazed by my ex’s biceps and asked him in the elevator if he was lifting weights or something….LOL It was certainly flattering but he never lifted weights before except for a bit in the army when he had to. That was so many years ago….yoga is amazing for the joints and stiff joints are something I’m really concerned about that comes along with aging if we don’t help ourselves.
