I admit it. Since December, I’ve been slacking off with my training. I’m still working out at least 3 times a week which is still a lot more than most people but the intensity of my workouts is a FAR cry from what it use to be and my diet is 10x worse than before. I use to eat everything in moderation and mostly REAL foods but now it’s way more than moderation AND with less exercise. I know I can’t have it both ways so I’m slowly getting back into the old routine even with a full time job, night school, lots of freelance work and fundraising. Fitness will always be a priority along with those even if I can’t exercise until late at night. Hey, at least the gym is empty and I can set up my stations without interruptions!
Anyway, with this said, I hope I’ll find time to blog more about fitness which is the a topic I’m really passionate about. I have a huge fitness rant I’ve been wanting to write about for months which will be published soon— I finally wrote it down after finding out that my best friend had the same thought all along… so I’m not the only one! Great bitchy minds think alike.
To end this useless entry, here is the best advice I’ve ever given [myself] and still use it everyday: JUST DO IT. Whenever I feel myself slacking, some gentle bitching at myself really does the job! And this sounds really self-absorbed but I re-read my own heath and fitness entries to get myself motivated. I hope it motivates you guys too!

Wow, you certainly are busy.
I agree! JUST DO IT! It’s so much easier to do things once you’ve started.

Would you have any tips on fitting in workouts when you have a busy schedule? I’ve heard that working out late isn’t good, yet it can be really difficult to fit it in earlier and mornings are just not an option haha

With most things, it is getting started which is the hardest.
I’ve finally gotten off my but (literally) to do exercise today. I’ve realised that I’m eating more than usual (even though I usually eat everything in moderation), more tired during the day and having trouble sleeping at night. All these point to — I need to get fit!!

It sure is hard to stay on track with fitness when there’s other things you need to tend to. I’m bad because lately I’ve been putting fitness before school and sleep.
And I admit, I do peek once in a while to read your fitness entries when I need a bit of a push. Thanks for that!

Ahh I know what you mean. Over December and January I’ve just been… ehh piling on the pounds. I just have to say though that your health entries are really inspiring, and once I start working full time and earning more I’ll definitely join the gym again. You’re my motivation woman!

It’s so easy to make excuses not to work out when you’re busy! but yes… making it a priority is a must. I usually eat quite healthy during the week but when the weekend hits… temptation central. -_- it’s hard to say no as well when you’re with your friends at AYCE… haha!

I used that ‘just do it’ line for every little thing in life and I usually add ‘you know, like nike’ to the end of it haha. I’ve been slacking off big time too.. hopefully that will change with Spring coming in – I’ll be way more motivated because I LOVE running outside!
Best of luck!

Not at all saying that the inspiration has made me do anything thus far (busy, excuses, excuses, blahblah) but your posts about fitness ARE motivating. It’s great to see someone with a trainer-like dedication to MAKING TIME for something as vital as fitness. Sad how it’s pushed aside as something of a luxury to work out because you have to have time for it (which again goes back to how people just don’t make the time for it).

I really need to manage getting a little exercise at least — quitting smoking has killed me in the weight department.

you know what, you do motivate me. but then i demotivate myself. i tried starting an anonymous work out blog and it worked well for about…. 3 days. and then i stopped.
I haven’t worked out for probably almost a year now. i can feel the flubber coming on. hence, the detox. which also didn’t really help. i suck. that’s it. plus, i cheated on the detox which…. makes me suck more!
