I hate us.
Doesn’t this make you so angry?

Especially the fact that BP will most likely get away with this. And the fact that we are driving ourself into this hole where all our social, economic and environmental problems will never be fixed.
We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors,
we borrow it from our Children.

I heard on the radio the other day that the youngest person on earth (essentially a newborn) will never live to see the day that this oil will be completely gone, given that they live a full lifetime. It’s so sad that this has happened, as if we didn’t already have enough going on in the world.

and BP is still trying to figure out ways of saving it & purifying it for sale. They’ve been and filtering the “impurities” out of the oil, and selling it- another reason why the cleanup has been so slow.
The faster, and way less detrimental in the long run, would be to burn it. It would have way less side effects than just letting it flow.
… but of course not. BP mustn’t waste all that profit!

I so agree the Earth is being destroyed by us!! It’s hard to feel positive about the future of the planet and its animals, but if any good comes out of this catastrophe, then I hope that it is that people learn to make a change.

Awful. But hey, as long as it makes even more money for those who are already rolling in it…

Furious is the word that best comes to mind.

OMG this makes me so depressed. I have honestly avoided all photos of the oil spill because I knew it would just stress me out
LOVE the new layout btw!!

Every day there’s more on the news about how much more oil there is and how BP can’t/won’t stop it and my heart just breaks

Wow. That is horrible. I don’t even think I could stomach visiting that link… after that picture… and seeing commercials. It is so sad, and even worse that not enough is being done. I hope they rescued that bird after snapping the pic.

This is incredibly sad…
And people wonder why Mother Earth is angry…

(Nice new theme btw!)

I hate this too… This problem doesn’t hurt BP AT ALL and there isn’t even a way to boycott that doesn’t hurt community as well as the corporation (and it would probably barely make a dent in BP).

hi katy. love your new layout!! esp the bling! it caught my eye right away! haha. this entry you posted definitely makes me angry and very helpless. this is a tad bit off topic but yesterday a rabbit got run over and thrown to the side of the street across my house. there were 2 other rabbits there trying to protect the dead one. one of them was trying to drag it onto the sidewalk and away from the street. it made me feel so helpless to watch but at the same time it was cute to see that happening too. i asked my dad to go across the street to put the dead bunny on the lawn so at least the other 2 would be safe from traffic. you should have seen how cute they were trying to protect the dead on and licking it to try and save it. called the city to come pick it up and then drove my dad to the airport. when i got back home there were 2 dead rabbits =(

That is probably one of the most depressing things I have seen in my lifetime.
I saw some other photo, I believe on CNN or maybe Flickr, but they were of oil-covered animals that had died… birds and sea life…
I just don’t understand how with all the technology available that this can’t be fixed. I just don’t get it.
