According to a spokesperson for Research in Motion, key highlights of BlackBerry 6 include:
- Crisp, more immersive visuals, including new graphics, animations and transitions
- New WebKit browser; it’s high-fidelity and very efficient, for fast, rich browsing with support for multiple sessions (i.e. tabbed browsing)
- Multi-touch support (e.g. pinch to zoom) while browsing, viewing photos, etc.
- Graphical, context-sensitive menu pop-ups
- Redesigned core apps, plus a new media player UI
- New Home Screen experience; multiple views based on content type (All, Favourites, Downloads, Media, etc.), universal search
- New app for integrating RSS and social networking feeds
I can’t wait for the browser update! I’m using Opera Mini but it still has it’s flaws. RIM was on crack, releasing such an ugly and inefficient default browser (but then it IS a “business” phone after all).

Wow this looks so awesome! It’s like an iPhone but… I don’t know, different too! hhahaa now I’d really want to get a blackberry!

Omg this is sexy!! This is not the time for me to be seeing this since I’m more than sure I’ll be converting to a finger phone rather than a thumb phone. *ahem* Iphone D:

I’m still gonna stick with the iPhone, I’m kind of addicted to it

I hope our Bold2 would be on the listed of supported devices for this OS. It’s the best Blackberry to date so we HAVE to be!!

Interesting. I agree that it kinda looks like an iPhone. I have a BlackBerry but I want an iPhone. Now that I’ve seen this, I’m not sure which one to get.

Yeah I thought that was pretty lame too and kinda distacting. I’d rather have a real video where someone is using it and explaining the features.

Whoa! The new features are awesome! Looks like RIM is giving iPhone and android phones a run for their money! The search function looks great!
