I want to live in an beautiful stately home.

I want to my own Midnight Garden where I can escape to with a good book.

I want a farm …with hired-help.

I want a field full of sheep like Beatrix Potter’s.

I want a slow-paced lifestyle where I can ride horses all day.

I want to explore old castles and have picnics amongst it’s rolling hills.

I want to live on the English countryside.

I’m sure it’ll change again and again over the years but this what my idea of retirement looks like right now.
What’s yours?

very interesting and well designed blog… thoughts on retirement at 22 – day dream indeed

I hate hot weather! I don’t mind a couple months of it where it’s hot but not THAT hot (like in Vancouver) but I don’t think I can survive in Asia in the summer.

I don’t even want to get OLD much less think about what I’ll do when I’m old. lol. Well retiring at an early age would be nice – if thats what you’re thinking about!
I’d love to travel. After that – very much like your lifestyle. Much relaxation, enjoying nice surroundings, etc.

Hmm, for me, I’d like to live in the Irish countryside in a large house. I want it close enough to the city for me to go shopping, but far enough for it to feel free. I would like a big garden for me to read in/tend to. Oh, and also a pretty patio dining set for me to drink my tea on. hehe.

yours is really awesome! i haven’t put as much thought into mine, but i would have to say that i would want to live in the cottage like the one colin firth’s character lived in in love actually. i would want a chef and to be able to just read, write, watch tv, and veg with my (hopefully then) husband!

I just pictured me living in a hobbit-home in the hills (Lord of the Ring-esque) after reading your comment… instead of a cottage. I think that would be awesome too… but I’d have maids and butlers and everything to do all the dirty work for me while I just relax.

I loveee the first picture. I wanna live in a big house like that with many large windows. Preferably located on a hill, with large swimming pool and jacuzzi over looking the ocean..and has one of those elevator thingy and pretty steps down to the beach

i would love to live by the beach because i love the sound of waves crashing. it would be nice to live low key, but i know i’m a city girl at heart and would never be able to give that up. i like the sound of reading in a garden though. that’s so you.

I love city life too since I’m young but when I’m older, I’d like to retire to some place quieter.
