Random Thoughts

  • Why does all of Beyonce’s songs makes you want to kill yourself after hearing it for the 3rd time!? I realized this 4 years ago but still have her songs on my playlist; her songs must’ve turned me insane. She has an amazing voice and her songs are good RIGHT when it comes out but afterwards they get annoying as frick!
  • Bandage Dress Ladies, there is a time to stop wearing bandage dresses or just skimpy dresses in general. Just because you’re wearing one in a club, doesn’t mean you look hot. It’s nice to have confidence but no one really wants to see flabs, rolls, guts and cellulite, amongst other things. Please. Spare. Us.
  • I have a fear of public washrooms. I always head to the biggest/handicap stall if I need to (nothing worse than being in a tiny, smelly stall… especially with all those Asian restaurants I go to) and find myself always holding my breath when I walk in one. Thankfully, I’ve mastered the art of holding my bladder for long periods of time even though it will certainly mess me up in the future.
  • I also find myself holding my breath when I walk into Langara for my night classes. Call me a snob but old buildings makes me feel dirty and I never had to be in one for long periods of time ever since elementary school.
  • I don’t understand why nobody can pronounce my name the first time they see it written down. The either think it’s a typo and add an “h” for “Kathy” or call me “Cat-ty.” :@
  • Pineapples + flaxseeds = accidently-delicious-salad-bar-combination. Nomnomnom.
  • People ask me why I say I love the rain and gloomy weather so much… it’s because I never have to go out when it’s raining! I actually hate being IN the rain, but I can go a whole week of typical Vancouver weather without stepping outside if I wanted to (most places I go to have underground parking, don’t have to take public transit, etc.)
  • I can’t sleep with the heat turned on even though I always regret it in the morning. Another reason why I don’t like summer: my body is sooo sensitive to heat.
  • Necklaces Sometimes at work, I’d feel really self-conscious because I’m wearing accessories that makes lot of noise when I walk around and I feel like I’m annoying everyone so I tell myself not to wear it again. Yet I’m wearing another one the next day… and the next.
  • Another HUGE pet-peeve: people who don’t organize their PSDs!!!!! *#$%&$#@!!! They should offer a mandatory class in art school: “PSD Organization 101” please and thank you.
  • I hate using laptops because I need to look through at least a 22″ monitor (or smaller, dual monitors) or else I won’t take going on the computer seriously and won’t get any work done. If I had to use a tiny monitor, I’d probably stare at Tweetdeck the whole time, waiting for new tweets to appear. Luckily, we only connect our laptop to the TV to watch movies.
  • Make up companies needs to stop making those useless brushes that comes with eye shadows palettes, concealers, etc. Who uses them?
  • Boyfriend and I finally started watching Heroes and I can’t stand fat-doughnut-cop!! Does he die yet, next season? (Don’t answer that!!)
  • The generic brand of Peptol Bismol works sooo much better than the real thing.
  • Boyfriend *talking shit about me: “…and all those books she looks at.”
    Me: “Um. It’s called READING.”

  1. Interesting thoughts. I guess you had a lot on your mind and it seems that Beyoncaaaay’s songs have triggered this post, hehe. Note to Cat-ty, I mean Kay-tee: Less Beyoncaaay and you shall feel better.
I love my lappy (although I curse it a lot) and I used to watch 2 seasons of Heroes… somehow became less interesting to me.. But I may continue to watch one day. For now, I’m happy that 24 started! Yay to Jack Bauer :) Do you watch?

    REPLY

Yeah I’m on the 3rd season and it sucks so bad compared to the previous ones. I’m caught up on 24 but I always try to watch shows when the seasons are over so I can watch it all at once… I can’t stand waiting. I love 24!!

OMG same here with the whole public washrooms thing. I am SO scared of them and will avoid it until completely impossible to avoid. And then I go in trying not to touch anything with any part of my body (even my clothes). LOL

    REPLY

Don’t you hate those tiny stalls where you can’t even open the door without it touching you… I get soo paranoid and try to make myself as small as possible when opening the doors. Hahaha

  3. Hahaha!! I love your random thoughts!
especially the one about how your accessories jangle and make too much noise making you afraid of annoying others! Thats my problem too sometimes but more the case about the boots and shoes I wear. They’re just really loud and you could definitely hear me coming down the hallway when I’m wearing my boots! hahaha

    REPLY

I use to feel the same way with my heels but now I embrace the noise. It feels authoritative.

I can not stand Beyonce. She just irritates me. I just can’t understand why she has so many fans. It’s gotta be Jay-Z’s fault.

When I lived at home, my dad insister on sprinkling ground flax seed into everything I ate, you could never taste it, and they’re so, so good for you.

Also, you’re not alone. My boyfriend also makes fun of me for reading.

    REPLY

My boyfriend makes fun of my reading all the time but I know he’s joking and now he knows to leave me alone when I’m reading and not bother me. *good boy* LOL

^^;; I actually like Beyonce’s songs, especially her recent ones. And I was listening to some of her old songs from her days in Destiny’s Child. Although some of her songs from her first solo album are really bad, but I really can’t stop listening to her new songs. I can’t get enough of Halo and Sweet Dreams.

But yeah, public restrooms always scares the shit out of me. You just really can’t rely on the workers to clean it thoroughly.

And omg, I gave up on Heroes. It only gets worse…..and all of my TV time has been devoted to catching up on Lost before the last season starts in February.

    REPLY

I don’t mind her slow songs but her more upbeat ones are reallyy irritating.

I agree, I’m on season 3 of Heroes and I don’t know if I want to watch season 4. I wish Hiro had more screen time though.

Yay for Lost… it’s the best show ever!

Katyyyyy!!! You know what I learned about public bathroom stalls? The first one is the cleanest because that’s the one EVERYONE avoids and most places clean it once every 1-3 hours. Also, public restrooms are supposed to be cleaner than your own bathroom because they get cleaned more often. :)

    REPLY

Damn, I was going to say that one too LOL.

Anyways, yes, it’s great to have curves, but ROLLS ARE NOT CURVES people!! Get thee some spanx.

    REPLY

Thanks for the tip… I’ll keep that in mind. But not all public washrooms are cleaned as they are suppose to be and I know only my ass has been sitting on my own toilet at home. LOL. The only public washrooms I don’t mind using are the ones in high-end restaurants. :P

I totally get what you mean about Beyonce’s songs. I actually can’t stand her or her music. The reason they get on your nerves after a while is because they are soooooo repetitive in the chorus. That’s why they are such hits,…they get stuck on your brain and even if you don’t like them, you’ll find yourself singing along to them because the radio stations play them like 5 times in an hour. No one can resist knowing all the lyrics to a Beyonce song after listening to one after 5 times. Maybe they should gather all of her music and use it as an WMD against evil instead.

I can’t stand public bathrooms in restaurants and stores like Walmart/Target. Grossss! The worst bathrooms are the ones in gyms. I used to work at a 24 Hour Fitness and the womens bathroom toilets that backed up all the time. The smell alone was worse than what was coming outta the men’s locker room!

    REPLY

Luckily all the gym washrooms I’ve encountered are always clean… the change room at my gym is cleaned constantly and I usually have to avoid trying not to slip on the floor because the cleaning ladies are always in there mopping the floors or something. <3 That’s good because I don’t think I’ve taken a shower at home for like 5 months (except maybe once a week on a weekend when I’m not showering at the gym).

When Beyonce is on the radio, I switch stations.

LOL I love this collection of thoughts!! I agree completely with the bandage dresses – I am sick of seeing them. It almost looks like someone wrapped themselves in an ace bandage that they dyed. Not a fan.

If it makes you feel any better, someone mis-pronounced my name today (may have been the first time ever lol)

totally agree with you on the accessories thought. i get self-conscious when i’m wearing them and when i’m writing down notes in class or somewhere quiet, and everyone turns and looks hahah. but i’d wear them anyways the next day. and don’t even get me started on public washrooms lol. especially in asian places

You mean bangles and stuff? I love ‘em but I always take them off when I get to the office or something because they make wayy too much noise and always bang against the keyboard or something when I’m typing. Poo.

I can’t stand anyone in any unflattering clothes. I’m really paranoid about being that person, and obsess over whether or not I “should be wearing” whatever is on my body.

Ugh my husband sleeps with the window open and can’t stand heat. I fall asleep best with a heater blowing directly on me. It’s an issue. I’m super sensitive to the cold. Sometimes I almost start crying if I have to go somewhere outside and it’s cold.

I’ve felt the same way about jewelry before.

And when it comes to PSDs, I always name all of my layers. ;)

    REPLY

I sleep with the window open year round too! I’d rather be cold than hot because I can snuggle under a dozen blankets but when you’re hot, you can’t do much but lie there, sweat and feel like dying. Luckily, my boyfriend isn’t sensitive to weather at all!

I name all my layers and put them in order that they appear too. :P It’s kinda a waste of time but I can’t stand looking at messy layering.

  12. Kimm says:

Tight clothing like that should be banned, and I don’t care how skinny someone is either, they shouldn’t be worn at all. To me they just like they ran out of material to make a true outfit.

I’m the same about my jewelry as well.

    REPLY

I don’t mind tight clothing as long as they are flattering on you and not worn in a class-less way (eg. super tight mini-tube dress).

I think tight .. well not super tight but form-fitting clothing are essential at places like the gym because it’s increases motivation. :P

    1. Reject any plans for the day so I could be lazy.
    2. If I’m forced to go outside, I like hearing the rain.

Heat is horrible because I can never sleep when it’s hot (thank god for AC) and I hate picking out a decent outfit in the summer because layering makes everything unpractical. Winter/Fall fashion = the best!

Totally with you on the beyonce thing… along with Rihanna…. and Lady Gaga songs. Sorry, i know they’re “big stars” but i just get annoyed with their songs after awhile. ORRRRRRRRRRR maybe we should blame the BEAT for overplaying every single song. :irritated:

Lol to #2, i agree…. it’s worse in the summer when they all come out in tube tops with everything hanging out. not classy.

    REPLY

I don’t think I’ve ever gotten sick of Lady Gaga’s music for a while even though she was one of the only English-speaking artists on my iPod for months (because I was too lazy to get all my music back after iTunes fucked it up).

I hate hate hate the Beat with a passion. When they started out, they were suppose to be an “all hip-hop” radio station and everyone was excited for that and now they are just regular top 40. Plus they’re DJs are sooooo effing annoying (esp the morning show) and have so many damn commercials.

I literally LOLed @ this post. I always think that about the FUGGGGLY brushes that come with the eye palettes. You can’t even use those! They are horribly made and your shadow will be not put on properly.

I ALWAYS go to the handicapped toilet hahahaha. Beyonce’s songs get SO annoying after you listen to them after a few times, but like you, I still have them on my ipod bwahaha.

And OMGSQUEALWTF @ the jewelry thaaang. I’m the same way, but mainly about wearing heels!

Yeah, public toilets give me the shivers but when I have to go… I have to go. Holding your bladder is not actually a bad thing. I remember a lecturer once telling us that we could and should train or bladders. Exercises the muscles down there. But of course not good for you if you’re going to explode.
I love the Summer but I can’t sleep when it’s too hot. That’s why I always have one foot out of the covers when I sleep. Haha~

i’d have to agree with you on the bandage/bandeau and skimpy dresses. i don’t understand why so many girls wear it out (especially clubbing) and think that it looks sexy or hot?! i just think they look tacky and skanky, and that the girl either has no fashion sense or is just too lazy to put on something that takes a bit more effort! you can be classy and still pull off sexy without wearing skin-tight or barely there clothing.

Public bathrooms, UGH. I try to avoid them altogether also. If I really have to go, I keep spare disinfectant wipes in my bag & that’s just for the handle on the stall doors. I cannot understand sometimes how really grown people can be so nasty and not clean up after themselves.

I like my laptop but I agree, the smaller screens are not very encouraging and they in fact, take some getting use to. I prefer my Dell Desktop at work. I just really love the convenience of my laptop at home. The ability to just lay in my bed anytime is so tempting.
