I suffer from short-Chinese-eyelash syndrome so I indulge in false lashes. I have a big shoe box filled with Ardell lashes that I buy in bulk (and a couple of MAC lashes mixed in there) and last week, I was sent a box of Revlon Fantasy Lengths to try out.

The pairs I received were all natural looking and not as dramatic as I’d like but when I put them on, they definitely look very pretty, has a flexible band so you can align it to the contour of your eye easily and are extremely comfortable to wear. Good for day-looks except…
Quality of the lashes felt a little flimsy when I first tried them on. My intuition was proven that night when I took them off… it seems like the max you can wear them are once or twice, whereas I’ve worn a single pair of Ardell lashes more than 10 times and they still look great.
A couple of the pairs had “self adhesive technology“, meaning no glue is required, as there is already a strip of “adhesive” on the lashes (comes with an extra strip too for a second application). Honestly, I love my eyelash glue and have no problems putting on lashes so I was too skeptical to try them for fear that they’ll fall off SO my sister got to be the guinea pig and she LOVED them. There’s also a plastic application tool that comes with it and I’m guessing it’s to press down on the lashes so they would line up with your eye and stick but I didn’t use it… my sister liked it though.
One thing I wanted to rant about is the PACKAGING. Revlon needs to rethink their packaging!! What I love about Ardell and Mac lashes is that you can easily open/close the box without ruining them (even when you’re drunk) and one night, I spent 15 minutes in a frustrated, drunken slumber trying to put the lashes back in the box without ruining them. [No matter how drunk I am after a night of partying, I force myself to take off my make up, shower AND wash/dry my hair or else I can't go to bed... don't ask how I do it, I just do. Sometimes, I even manage to cook ramen or something and haven't burnt myself ...yet.

Would I recommend these? Yes, if you’re an on-the-go kinda gal and have no time to glue on lashes (I’d keep a tube of lash glue in your purse just in case though) and/or looking for natural and comfortable false eyelashes to wear. My sister loves them but I’d stick with my Ardell lashes so I gave the rest to her (only ’cause I’m nice like that).
But anyway, if you girls want some super fancy eyelashes, check out these LED Eyelashes.

Those LED eyelashes look ridiculous hahah
NOTHING beats Ardell.

You crack me up – Who showers and even dries their hair after a drunken night? I wash my face and brush my teeth if I’m not too wasted, but when I used to *really* party, I would usually just strip down and cash out in bed.
Cheap lashes suck – not worth it unless they are a really dramatic pair you only need for one special event. I think not requiring glue is a pretty good indicator of a flimsy product. I would totally wear those LED eyelashes to a bar!

I feel sooo dirty going to bed without taking my make up off or hair spray in my hair. I use to do it but can’t do it anymore so I always force myself to clean up. I can’t even sit on my own bed when I come home from work or something in my “outside” clothes (even though I sit in front of a computer all day). I guess it’s just something my parents drilled into my head since we were little.

That sucks to hear that they’re flimsy…I’ve worn Ardell and Red Cherry pairs around a dozen times with no problem. I’m the same way when coming home drunk. I have to completely clean up and have completely dried hair before going to bed
.
I might make my halloween makeup similar to the vampire look I did if I decide to be a devil(I’ll switch the super light face powder for bronzer though). I can’t pick whether I want to be an angel or devil though…I’m sure it’ll be a last minute decision.

Yay sounds like I’m not the only one? I just can’t stand going to bed all gross and dirty. Yuck.
I say go for devil.

i’m like that, i have to shower no matter how drunk i am. i’ve showered with my eyes half closed and like you said, i don’t know how i do it either. haha i cracked up to the ramen part cus i’ve done it too.
i’ve tried the fake lashes long ago but i gave up on them completely after the many failed attempts i encountered. i don’t know how many tutorials i’ve read and watched on applying false lashes… but i’ve concluded they are just not for me. iii gueesss and those LED lashes should only be used during sexy time.

Ramen is one of the best drunk food… it’s soooo worth the struggle to make it. I can’t count how many times I’ve sat at home with my eyes half closed and slurping down ramen. Mmmm. I only eat the Nissin Sesame Oil kind though. Nomnomnom.

I’m lucky enough to have thick, long lashes, but I have bought fakies to try out before. I felt like a moron trying to get the things to stick properly, and I couldn’t get them to look natural.
Those LED lashes are nuts! They would be fun to wear out to the club one night. Maybe Celebrities!? HAHA!

It’s funny because when I wear fake lashes, I don’t care if they look natural or not, but probably because I only like wearing the super dramatic ones or none at all. Even during the day! =0

The glare from led lashes look like they would be distracting, if you have to look down. I think they should stay on the runaways and not for daily use.
Could see it now people driving with them on so they could go clubbing.

My eyelashes aren’t completely tragic as far as Asians go, so I stick to mascara and sometimes eyeliner for a bit of oomph.
Great review. If you wear false lashes all the time, would you consider getting lash extensions done? Some people swear by them.

I would but I always wear my glasses unless I’m going clubbing or something so they’d just hit my glasses. Maybe one day after I get Lasik because I’m too lazy to wear contacts. Do you get extensions done?

hahaha .. the chinese-eyelash-syndrome got me cracked up .
i suffer the same thing as well . shu uemura has got the best eyelash . plus the dudes at the counter are soo awesome that they can cut the lash accordingly to ur eye shape so that it looks very nice on us .
oh and as for the pearls and chains. i like to buy them at Forever21 or best is to actually look in ur mom’s or grandma’s jewelry collection . i got some of my best ones from my mom !
you can also always make them by urself though .

I love fake eyelashes but i cannot put them on by myself for the life of me. I always have to get a friend to do it. (even the self adhesive ones not to mention the glue…that just gets everywhere)
hint hint: tutorial time katy?!?

Lol I suck at tutorials so I’d rather not embarrass myself. My only tip is to wait a bit so your glue gets tacky before putting it on. Works wonders.

I always wanna try biying fake lashes but it bothers me the fact that I can never seem to put them on right. You know, unless I go to salon and meet my make up artist. I’m ridiculous like that!

For some reason, I never trust a make up artist to do my eyes. Last time I went to one because I wasn’t home and needed to get my make up done, she royally screwed up and made me look like shit. I’d much rather do my make up myself and it’s fun too… I guess it’s because I have really Chinese eyes (monolids, flat, etc) so a lot of MA’s don’t understand the eye shape.

omg… hahaaha, I haven’t seen those LED lashes but they look soooo funky! That would have been something great for something like a rave or something. I love wearing fake lashes but they take so much time :S

I’m so surprised I haven’t seen someone with the LED lashes here yet. Then again I never leave the house anymore (laugh).

Yes I love Ardell lashes! Don’t wear them everyday though.. I think that’s too much and kinda damages your real lashes because you might accidently yank them out like I do when I take them off when I’m drunk *ouch*
Hot Pot soon! <3

hey Katy, thanks for sharing your thoughts on my “introvert” post. its nice to know that some ppl can relate to it =) Have you tried lash extensions before? There’s a place called Sparkle Nails on Broadway that does really good ones and they look so full and natural after. Its only $50 to get done the first time and i think refills are about $20? That’s really not bad compared to a lot of other places. But being a low maintenance girl, it’s not worth it for me. Im not careful enough to have them last. lol*
