The Worst Things about Vancouver

  • High cost of living. Everything is so damn expensive here. One day I’m going to drag my boyfriend to Texas or Arizona or somewhere far out in the states [where people won't expect me to move] so I can buy a large piece of land to build a huge house that will cost the equivalent of a tiny, broken-down shack in Vancouver.
  • Traffic [in Richmond]. I know I shouldn’t complain since our traffic is nowhere-near as bad as say, L.A. but you’ll want to DIE driving in Richmond because of all the retarded drivers (most of them are rich, middle-aged Chinese ladies who probably bribed the ICBC examiners to get their licenses). I’m not discriminating against my own kind, really, but it’s true!!
  • Bad night life. Need I say more?
  • Bad fashion scene or one that is seasons behind. There’s nothing but clones wearing Ed Hardy and TNA living in Vancouver and if you try to start a new trend or wear something that’s in-style for the season (eg. harem pants), people will shoot you down like a pigeon.

    Spring 09: Harem Pants

Hey, they may not look that hot at first and definitely not everyone will be able to pull them off but look at UGGS. Have to say they look better than Ed Hardy though (well, everything looks better than it). :P

  • Rain. I know I did say I actually love the rain, but I didn’t mention that I only like it when it rains on weekdays so I can stare out the window at work and think about all those people walking around outside in the pouring rain. I don’t mind a light drizzle with sunny breaks on weekends though. The rain smells refreshing.

I have to say, bad fashion probably exists EVERYWHERE :P

Oh I could list more… I just wanted to keep my list at 5. :P

I guess it’s alright if your in school… students just want to be comfortable especially if it’s super cold and they’re taking the bus.

LOL kooty, all these remind me of Jakarta. With the exception of bad fashion scene and bad night life since people here are always up to it and it’s hard to keep up sometimes, plus tons of parties / clubs.

However the traffic is crazier and everything is expensive :(

You don’t like harem pants, Kooty? I think they look pretty cute :P if I wear it I have to wear super high heels though so I don’t looklike a midget even more/

    REPLY

Nooo I think the harem pants are kinda cute! They’re just weird at first glance but they look super comfy. I think they’re like skinnies though… only people with certain body types will look good in them and I don’t think I’m one!

I’m not digging the Harem pants at all… Two words: MC Hammer.

And I love the weather here but I also hate rain sometimes.

I’ll probably have to write a post sometime about the places to see in Seattle. Been wanting to do that for awhile anyway :)

    omg lmao.. mc hammer.. hahahahahah

OH.My.God. I’ve never seen those harem pants before. I just took one look at them and told myself that I’d never buy those…but then again, that’s what I said about gladiator sandals and now I’m a proud owner of a pair. Oh my. I do like the fact that my bum might actually look small in those though. Hehe, then again, it might accentuate it. I’ll just be safe and keep away.

Hawaii has a high cost of living as well. Sometimes I wonder why…

I actually like the harem pants because they look sooo comfy yet different… don’t know how they will look on me though. :S

OMG! WHAT ARE THOSE!? Those pants are too crazy.
Generally speaking Las Vegas has “neutralish” fashion. Not many locals try to make bold fashion statements (i.e. harem pants). We do however have the Christian Audigier night club..

haha which would you prefer? having bad night life or… good night life, but in an ed hardy club.

(actually i take it back.. fashion here is pretty bad. all of the guys strive to look like complete duche bags & girls to look like complete whores)

having bad night life or… good night life, but in an ed hardy club.

Omg that’s a hardd one… I’ll have to think about that because both are equally bad. Ahahahahaha.

Good advice! I have a problem with the gym. I have no motivation to go because I just don’t enjoy the repetitiveness of doing cardio or crunches. It gets so boring! I’d rather play sports to burn calories, but that takes time and money to sign up for a league.

Nevertheless, your words have motivated me to give the gym another shot! I will get that pretty bikini body this year!

Oh man, don’t even get me started on this!

Guess I can’t complain about the fashion here in Tokyo. Everyone dresses insanely well (both guys and girls). Makes me feel like a bum even if I put effort into it (so I don’t).

I wish people’s opinion of fashion in North America is as open-minded as those in Asia… you can wear the craziest things over there and people won’t look at you funny!

Hahah I agree with the traffic in Richmond! Well, the small lanes kind of scare me a bit in Canada! haha

I think black harem pants look good!

That’s why I moved, it was getting way to pricey out that way..

Those pants look comfy BUT also look like your hiding your butt/thighs. So I dunno

You forgot 3road! I avoid that road anyway possible.
Night life in Rmd? I’m sure some people would say the night market. But I don’t think it count lol
