Boyfriend the Brandwhore
I finally went to buy a new pair of prescription sunglasses today! I have a pair with Coach frames for driving because I hate wearing contact lenses but I decided to get another one so I can keep it in my bag instead of my car. Of course, I was looking for Dior frames (my favorite!) but the styles I liked were too curvy to support prescription lenses so they were all out of the question. It came down to either the pair I’m wearing in the picture with a deep red frame or a more squarish black Fendi frame but I chose the other ones and don’t even remember what brand they were! Oh well, at least I’m not a brand-whore. I chose a light brown gradient tint for the lens and grand total? FREE! All covered by insurance.
Speaking of brand-whores, my boyfriend is slowly turning into one. He use to yell at me for spending $70+ on a t-shirt but he bought an expensive t-shirt and said, “whatever, it’s only $70.” Umm ok, hypocrite! I don’t think I was ever a brand-whore and neither was he; as long as the clothes look good but now he’s always checking the brand. As long as he doesn’t wear Ed Hardy, CA or any “gangster-wannabe” t-shirts with retarded designs on them, then I’m okay with it. At least he’s turning into more of a shopaholic now! Now, he can hold my bags AND shop with me. ♥
Are you a brand-whore?
Did I also mention that…

Mochi pictures of the day:

I need to get some new sunglasses, last time I was looking for some they didn’t have anything that I liked or would work well on me.
I’m not much of a name brand person, Though I will fork out the cash for some lululemon *I still have clothing from them when they 1st started* But I guess if it fixes well and is able to stand up to the abuse of daily life of Kimm then I will purchase it. If not costco clothes work well lol..

I love Lululemon! Those are the only pants I wear to the gym and my old pair, I’ve had for like 3 years that I wash frequently and are still in good condition and haven’t pilled yet!

You’re gorgeous!
I don’t bother too much with brands but I do purchase some expensive and branded items once in a while. Bags and shoes, though, have to be branded. If its clothes, I can buy cheaper ones that look good on me nonetheless. Make up has to be branded, too, because they are usually of better quality and I have sensitive skin. Oh wait, did I say I wasn’t a brand-whore? Haha.

Yeah it’s pretty hard to tell the brands of clothing unless it has a huge logo plastered on it somewhere… but I think clothing like that is kinda ugly anyway! Bags are easier to tell apart (brand-wise).
Nothing wrong with being a brand-whore. I am in some aspects.. just not THAT much. I’m just glad of that because I already have a shopping-problem! We need to go to shopaholics-anonymous!

haha i hope my boyfriend doesn’t become a “brand-whore,” but i wish that he would shop with me instead of just holding my clothes & waiting for me while i’m in the fitting room :/ i feel bad to just leave him so bored. seriously.. how do you get your boyfriend to shop for himself too? i need to find out so that i can shop longer (i only stop bcus i see how bored he is)
anyway mochi is so cute! lol is her outfit brand name too? :p

My boyfriend use to go shopping only a couple times a year because he didn’t really care too much about clothes (but when he did go, he usually shops a lot). Now, it’s usually him who suggests to go shopping (me, I’d rather do it online). LOL. I think if you give him time and expose him to the world of fashion more, he’ll eventually become more conscious of his image.
No I think her outfit is some cheap stuff because my parents bought it. LOL.

I just had Korean food. I seen the seafood pancakes and was tempted to order, but we got the kim chee one instead. Needless to say, I know why you mention the Korean pancakes so often.
I’ll admit, I’m a bit if a brand whore, not real serious. Most of my sunglass frames are Chanel, or Gucci, but my favorite sunglasses are a pair I picked up from Guess…the outlet. $25…

Ooh I never had the kimchee pancakes.. in fact I’ve ONLY had the seafood one because once I discover something good, I tend to ONLY order it.
I agree, all my glasses and sunglasses are brand name just because they look nicer and they’re not that expensive compared to like a Chanel purse or something. Otherwise, I don’t care too much for brand for other apparel and accessories. I saw reallyy hot Dior sunglasses at Nordstrom on sale for $110 too. I need to go to the states soon.

That photo of you looks great! The glasses suit you well.
“Are you a brand-whore?” No. Well, ok, there are some things I’ll buy from brands, like, I’ll buy Clinique for my face. That’s about it. My jeans are from Esprit – but that’s a “cheaper” brand. My backpacks are from “Deuter” – the best company for backpacks. You know, this like that. But I’d never buy brand-clothes from Gucci etc. I do like the sunglasses from Gucci though. I never wear sunglasses, only when driving, and so I’m still wearing the ones I got in the States 15 years ago from Wal-mart
Wow – Mochi looks like a model

Heyyy girls got rights for brandwhoring, Kooty!!
Really nice glasses btw, you look fab!
I agree on how gross Ed Hardy is

Well since I’ve been working at an optometry office, I’ve been a “brand whore” for glasses and sunglasses haha.
It’s nice to get fully coverage. Lucky you!

hmmmmm i don’t think i’d mind a bf like that. haha! as long as there’s no nagging, and no ed hardy!

I’m not a brandwhore… that doesn’t mean I don’t have things I probably shouldn’t have bought but I buy things based on style rather than brand. There are definitely some brands that I end up buying more than others but that’s because their designs suit me
You got full coverage?! I had to pay $150 for mine (after the insurance covered more than half of their original price) and they aren’t even anything fabulous. Is that a Canadian thing? Cuz if it is, I’m moving to Canada.

Well I have a $400 health spending account from my company benefits on anything medical related… my sunglasses with the prescription lenses were only $395 so it covered all of it. I don’t think they usually cover sunglasses though but on my receipt, it only says glasses.

I will rarely pay $20 for a t-shirt. I’ve never even spent $70 on jeans, although I probably would if they fit perfectly. But I buy *everything* either thrifted or at outlets/discount stores.
I wish I could have prescription sunnies. I need glasses for more than driving though. :/ Once I had to drive home with only one contact and it was sooo scary.
I WANT that Korean food! There is a Korean restaurant near here I need to try this week… We usually just go for on-the-go lunches and end up getting bento boxes, but DAMN I want a hearty meal. At the annual campout we go to for adopted families they do an around-the-world potluck with tons of Korean food… *nom* Camping with them I ate kimchi soup all week!!
I bought Rufio a sweater yesterday! Need to post pics of that today.
Mochi’s ears look like a haircut with the way his hair is on top – he looks like he’s in the Beatles!

Wow how do you drive with one contact? I would get so depressed if my contacts were to pop out when I’m out.
Omg every dish we got at the Korean restaurant was SUPER spicy (except for the pancake and the Jab Chae) and the guys were like all dying because they just HAD to finish everything. It was funny because they were all sweating and red (which is kinda gross too)! I just ate a lil bit of that and stuck with the non-spicy stuff mostly because I don’t do the heat.
I want to get Mochi more clothes too but I never had the time and don’t even know what size she is so my mom buys all the clothes. =P

I just had to drive home from a boyfriend’s house a long time ago. Luckily I knew the area, but one contact is no fun.
How do you not like spicy?? I LOVE spicy!!
We bought Rufio the small sweater but I had to snip the arm holes to make them bigger actually. He wore it no problem at first but now when I put it on he pulls at it. Grrr! I hope he outgrows it – in clothes, he’s almost too cute to handle! Which is good, because otherwise he is so frustrating sometimes.

If I were super rich, I might be a brand whore. Unfortunately I’m not, so I’m a clearance-item whore? Lol.
As for the question you asked me, the text below the pictures are the “captions” and it’s included inside wordpress when you upload the pictures through wordpress. And it’s edited with css. They’re not “alt” though.

Thanks Thao! I don’t upload my images with the WP uploader because mine always loads so slowly. I upload them manually into my uploads folder but I’ll try yours.
I’m a clearance whore too! Lol. I’ve been feeling too self-conscious about spending so much money at once lately so I don’t think I’ll turn into a full-on brand-whore anytime soon!

Mochi is so stylish!
I like those sunglasses on you!
I am a self professed brandwhore =P

I used to be the exact opposite, only buying the cheapest — I avoided all brands just on concept. Some stuff is worth the money though, and I guess my wife as rubbed off a bit on me because I will buy the occasional brand-named thing these days. For example I have some pants and shirts from DKNY (bought all at outlet sells however). They tend to fit me well and hold up better than the cheap stuff. I almost never go shopping still though. Maybe once a year at best for clothes.

I wish I had a boyfriend who’d shop with me! Takes a while to find such a man – you’re a lucky girl
& as always, Mochi is the cutest thing.
Those sunglasses look fab on you, btw.

Cute sunglasses! That’s awesome that they were fully covered. I actually hate wearing them because I can never find any that don’t slip off my face -_- but then again, I haven’t really looked lol.
To answer your question, I’m not a brand whore by any means. Hell, most of the bags I carry are from Target! I really don’t see the point in paying for a stupid label other than bragging in a recession *rolls eyes* Like, why spend $80 on one shirt when you can get 4 for $20 each? Lol. Like I tell everyone, it’s not being cheap, it’s being thrifty.

I love the sunglasses you have on in the picture! I always end up breaking my sunglasses though, it’s a bad habit.. They never last long with me. haha I’m not a brand whore like I used to be, now I just go with the cute things, regardless of brand.
Your dog is so cute! When Eddie (my Yorkie) was a puppy I dressed him up like a girl! haha He’s scarred from the experience and won’t let me dress him anymore. lmao

Yeah Ray-Ban is pretty cool… my BF likes their sunglasses too!

I never had a pair of prescription sunglasses for myself, I would have to wear contacts and then wear sunglasses… but I’m thinking in two more years I’m going to go for laser eye surgery… I’m sick of wearing contacts as well.
My hubby used to be a brand whore…. I was one for a few months and then stopped, now I’m back to quantity over quality since it goes out of fashion anyways.

Hey darling! yes it’s good to be back! =) im glad i found you again too. it wasnt even thru xanga… i think it was from a comment you left on someone’s makeup blog..? oooh those sunglasses compliment your face very well. usually the styles i like don compliment my face very well so it kinda sucks. to answer ur question i dont think im a brand whore. everything branded was bought for me by my ex… so i can relate to your situation now when u say our bf is buying branded stuff. he kinda got me into it at the time but not so much now.

Yeah I’m super jealous of those people who can pull off any shape or kind of eye frames like my aunt. I also can’t wait until I bleach my hair again because I want some white framed sunglasses (I don’t think they look too good with dark hair on me).
I think I got my BF into buying brands… just when I’m going wayy out of buying them!
REPLY
Nice glasses! They look really sweet! I have never been a brand whore! If it fits looks nice and is relatively decent price I buy it! I think the most money I spent on a pair of jeans was like 50$ they were originally like $120 and I bought them on sale.
REPLY
im not really a brand whore, only occasionally… my dad bought the frame for my glasses last year (Oscar De La Renta) and i know i wouldn’t buy the same thing if i had to pay for it myself. LOL. im a cheapskate.

LOL at the Korean pancakes
Is your eye prescription pretty low? Can you still see clearly without glasses/contacts? Mine’s pretty high, so I don’t bother with prescription sunglasses, but it would be convenient cause contacts can hurt sometimes.

Haha, I had such a good laugh reading this line:
Indeed, when people indiscriminately pickup gangsta-looking clothes because they think they look cool in those designs, they become instant NOPEs to me
I’ve tried Korean pancake before and I must say that it’s absolutely yummy! Not to mention Korean BBQ, their ramen and bibimbab (the one where they put lots of vegetables, a raw egg and rice into a hot stone pot). Mmhmmm!

I’m a brand whore – for bags and sunglasses only though.

glad i’m not the only one that thinks ed hardy and designs like it are super tacky!! i turned my boyfriend on to designer jeans..haha he’s like “OH MAN! they ARE so much better!!” lol

Oooooh are those the glasses in the picture? They’re gorgeous! I have to wear glasses – only for at the pc – but don’t wear them as much as I probably should…
Mochi is adorable, I have never once seen a non-cute picture of her!
Plus I’ve never really been a brandwhore…there are specific stores i will stick to, such as Topshop but I’ve also found the most amazing bootleg jeans at the supermarket I work at! Never thought I’d see the day.
Oh and I WILL be starting up my own blog..I shall let you know as soon as I have it up.

After years of buying no name glasses, I went totally brand last year. You can really tell when you get a quality product. But I use contact lenses and then don’t have to worry about getting prespriction glasses. That way I can always get the really georgous looking designer glasses at the mall.
