Fashion Meme

From J and added questions from other meme’s sitting in my drafts:

Name the item of clothing that has been with you the longest:
I have lots that that I keep but don’t wear anymore but I think my oldest article of clothing that I still wear would only be from 2006 which were my very first pair of Lululemon yoga pants with the pink band at the hip. I sweat in them and wash them a lot and they’re still in near-perfect condition with no pilling whatsoever. Now that’s good quality! I own more now but that pair is still my favorite (probably because it’s the only pair I bothered to hem while the rest are dragging at my feet— fashion faux-pas?).

Other than jeans, what’s an article of clothing that you can’t live without?
Black leggings of course.

DKNY t-shirt

What was the last item of clothing you bought?
DKNY t-shirt, $50. I didn’t really want this shirt… I just bought it because we were in the store and boyfriend was buying something and I felt left out.

Describe your perfect winter & summer footwear:
Winter: Any type of boots! Flats, heeled, ankle, mid-calf, slouchy, etc. etc. Summer: Gladiator sandals, flip flops or ballet flats.

And what’s a brand you wouldn’t recommend?
Clothing from stores like Urban Behaviour, Sirens, Stitches, Urban Planet, Mariposa, etc. Most of the clothing are made from cheap fabric that feels nasty against your skin (eg. acrylic) and they fall apart easily. Their clothes also smell funny. I guess you could say they are equivalent to Forever 21 in the states but then we don’t have F21 here so it’s different! :P

What’s the ugliest trend of all time?
That’s easy, Ed Hardy. When I walk into stores like Bootlegger, they have a wall of Ed Hardy, CA, Affliction, etc. and it makes me cringe every time I see it.

And the best?
Jeans tucked into boots!!

Boots & Jeans

What was your biggest fashion faux-pas?
I had bright pink track pants when I was a kid which I wore them with a yellow Power Rangers sweater. I also had a bright green wind breaker.

What colors predominate in your wardrobe?
Black and purple.

Purple & Black

What are your vintage shopping strategies?
I’m a newbie vintage shopper and still learning. Advice anyone?

What’s the most insane piece of clothing that you have ever owned?
Bright pink leggings. Don’t worry. I don’t wear them.

If you could describe the majority of the clothes you own in one word, what would it be?
Diversified …because I don’t have a definite style. I’m a floater. :P

Classy? Not!

Things I Love
  • Lost. I love this show even more than Grey’s Anatomy… can you believe it? I almost cried last week because it was so good. LOL. And you know what’s even better? LOST IS ON TONIGHT! We need to have Lost parties.

    Lost

  • Post-Apocalyptic fiction. End-of-the-world scenarios and the survival of human spirit have always intrigued me but I really got into it after watching I Am Legend and now it’s my second favorite genre after fantasy. I just finished reading Warday (Whitley Strieber & James Kunetka) which is written in documentary style of the aftermath of a 20-minute nuclear war between the US and Russia that destroyed both countries. My favorite are Children of the Dust (Louise Lawrence), Swan Song (Robert McCammon) and The Stand (Stephen King). Other notable ones include Lucifer’s Hammer (Jerry Pournelle) and Oryx and Crake (Margaret Atwood).

  • Doing Crunches. I do 500 crunches non-stop after each work out (10 different kinds of crunches, 30 reps each and then 200 bicycle crunches). It only takes about 15 minutes out of your life and it works although I can’t stay I have a super flat stomach because I only do them so I don’t get a disgustingly bloated belly from my love of Korean Seafood Pancakes and all things fatty. :P It still makes me wonder though because I know if I actually tried to eat healthier, I could have the sexy abs I always wanted… but I REFUSE to give up good food… !!!
  • Snowboarding Snowboarding. I’m not that good at it at all but I love it. Did you know that about 45 minutes of snowboarding burns about 495 calories and not only that but it tones your entire body and is an awesome cardiovascular workout. That’s the reason why I started (and because it’s fun). Just be ready to wipe out hundreds of times, bruised knees and tailbones and the inability to move the next day if it’s your first time (falling doesn’t really hurt when your up on the mountain but it’s afterwards when you really start feeling it). All I know is that I want to still be boarding when I’m in my 50′s like my dad. Next season, my secret plan is to force all my girlfriends to learn because I don’t like going with Boyfriend and his friends all the time… they’re too crazy for me.

Snowboarding uses a variety of muscles including the hamstrings and quadriceps to guide the board, start it in motion and to stop. Snowboarding requires strong calf muscles which are used to coordinate toe-side traverses down the mountain. Abdominal muscles are used to provide strength and stability. Ankle and feet muscles are used for steering and balance.

  • Carbs. Don’t ever mention a no-carb diet to an Asian!! I swear, my grandma will kick you and chase you with her giant butcher knife (like she did with me when I did something bad when I was little) because we live on rice and noodles. How can you give up rice, potatoes, bread and pasta for the love of god?! Mmm. I could use some right now. ;)
