I started writing this a while ago but never finished it but then I saw Felisa’s entry… here goes:
- I put on my headphones when I don’t want anybody talking to me. Sometimes I’m not listening to anything either.
- On some of our lazy Sundays, Boyfriend and I would lie in bed all day and watch entire seasons of TV shows. We’d also make trips to Yaohan to grab some bubble tea and MSG-filled Chinese food to fatten ourselves up and get into the true couch-potato spirit.
- The only reason I work out is so I can eat more and not become morbidly obese. I’m far from your typical hot-and-skinny bitch— I love feeling good physically yet I love my food even more. I could care less about my weight and I’m proud of my curves because I don’t think being super skinny, as flat as a board with no T&A is attractive at all (if you can help it).
- I love reading articles on Wikipedia (despite the question of authenticity) especially on European royalty and religious history.
- My biggest fear is failing [in life].
- I use to sit in the back of my 8am Photoshop class so I could sleep. It totally wasn’t worth waking up early and bussing downtown for stuff I taught myself when I was 13. Poo.
- I got really good grades in highschool without trying at all but if I were to go back to school now, I don’t think I would pass.
- During art school, I use to buy a box of cookies and eat it all by myself. My classmates use to sip on those huge boxes of Tropicana orange juice and finish it in one class. The 7-11 across the street was our kitchen cupboard despite all the restaurants and cute little cafes everywhere you turn but I swear, Adobe makes you crave junk food! HMMM. So that’s where that extra 20lbs came from.
- I haven’t been getting anything productive done at all in the past week. I get home from work, eat dinner in bed then watch TV and play with my puppy all night. I think it’s the January blues (my second least favorite month of the year); I’m too tired and unmotivated to do anything creative, too tired to blog, too tired to read blogs and I haven’t even been reading my books. Sigh. I will try getting back into the routine next week.
- I was talking to a friend earlier about spending a week at a ranch this summer but it would cost over $1200 and she said she’d rather go to Cancun. A couple of years ago, I would’ve said the same thing and now, call me crazy but I’d rather spend a week on a ranch and ride horses all day in our beautiful province surrounded by the Rocky Mountains than go to a beach in Mexico (although I’d still go— if it was free) and besides, I’ve always wanted to be a cowgirl! It’s funny how I’ve changed over the years. Luckily, Boyfriend has no choice but to go with me this summer because my mind is set on it and I’m sure he’ll be okay since there’s a 18-hole golf course nearby.

I was looking at vacation deals to Hawaii and it costs around $1400 for four days
. I waaanna go!
Hahha I tune people out with headphones too, often times pretending!

Wikipedia is probably THE best site ever.
Also, what’s up with guys and golf? I don’t understand anything about golf.

I very much enjoyed this post! Oh, bubble tea .. where art thou. Our bubble tea place is always so far – I hate it. It’s somewhere in East Bubbafuck, Nowhere to tell you the truth.
I would definitely choose the ranch. I’m a really quiet type of person – Cancun just screams party out to me. I’d rather lay in the grass somewhere.

You need to come to Vancouver. We have bubble tea places everywhere you can imagine!

I have to confess that I love reading Wikipedia entries as much as you do! Sometimes I get spend the whole Sunday afternoon reading through interesting articles about almost everything under the sun… not to forget wildly opening any links in a new tab! Sometimes my Firefox will crash because of that, and that explains why I can’t finish reading even when it’s night time
You work out because you’re motivated by yourself and not because what others perceive you as
that’s nice! I’ve read hundreds of stories out there how people force themselves to go gym because their boss/colleagues think they’re fat or something. People and their unrealistic expectations of beauty. Anyway, at least you get to eat whatever you like

Ooh I open like 50 tabs at once too because of all those links to different articles.
I can’t stand how people change themselves because people talk about them and they don’t have the self-esteem to take it. I know it’s not entirely their fault since they can’t help it but I never quite understood that so it really irks me. I don’t think I can ever change myself for anybody or anything.

i’m a beach girl, but then horseriding does sound fresh new and fun to me.
ahh food glorious food!

Your lazy Sundays sound pretty good to me! And I can get lost just reading Wiki articles.
I’m scared of failing, too. Who isn’t?

I love reading those random facts about other bloggers. It makes you ‘get to know them’ in a whole different light!
REPLY
Ahh, I love reading wikipedia articles! Except I read them on ex-Chinese royalty
And horseback riding sounds like fun, especially when you have a great scenery to go along with it. But you know what I think would be the best? Horseback riding on the beach into the sunset.
Ok, so I’m a sucker for cheesy romantic stuff. But I’d totally want to do that one day

I went through the ex-Chinese royalty phase too after reading a book on the last empress of China. I’ve been going through an European royalty phase because of Phillipa Gregory lately.
You should definitely go horseback riding on the beach! It’s fun and romantic if you go with your boyfriend except when I went with my girlfriends, it was super windy since it was on the Oregon coast but still… we all loved it!

I think staying at a ranch would be really cool. I’m from the south but I’m in no way a country girl, but doing something totally different and out of the norm would be nice. Cancun is not all that great anyways, I’ve been there. It’s overrated if you ask me.
And nice to know I’m not the only Wikipedia nut.

i think i could picture you as one. my dad was a bull-rider when i was younger. a lot of people brought their horses to the shows. they’re so beautiful.. but they have the smelliest poo! XP it was all over the place so i always stepped in it by accident -_-”

Omg your dad had such a cool profession! I would’ve loved to grow up in that environment. Were you ever interested in it or considered doing it as well since your dad was one? Did you ride horses growing up? I’m so jealous of kids who have that opportunity. I’ve been obsessed with horses ever since I can remember but my parents didn’t have the money for riding lessons back then.

Hey there. Thanks for the comment. My desk wasn’t any fun but then again it’s an office desk so I guess it’s not supposed to be. Andhari has a cute desk. I have a link on my page if you wanna peep it. Anyways, consider yourself tagged.

I’ve never been to Cancun, but I’d pick a week at a ranch over it anyway. To me, Cancun sounds too much like, “Wooohoo! Spring break!” and I’m too old for that stuff now. A relaxing week riding horses and breaking in new jeans please.

Cancun is just partying and lying around in the sun but that stuff gets tiring. You can party, tan and ride horses and a billion other activities on a ranch! I think it’s more theraputic and relaxing too.

i’d pick a beach over horse-riding mostly because horses scare me D:

I’m somewhat opposite from you–I put on earphones when I want to eavesdrop on someone. I’ll make it seem like I’m listening to music, when really, I’m listening to someone’s conversation.

Oooh, I would pick the ranch!

Failing life is my biggest fear too!
Haha…I try to stay skinny so I don’t have to go buy new clothes. However, I think I might need to buy some new jeans now since I ate too much during my winter break…

Oh yeah buying new clothes because you lost/gained weight is so annoying! I lost some inches so all my pants are too loose on me now but I don’t want to go out to buy new ones either because they’re too expensive and I’m sure I’ll get all those inches back sooner of later.
But for you, it’s an excuse to buy new jeans so go for it (you sound like you want to)! Hehe jk!

i like that line ^_^
i always felt stupid being in photoshop classes cause i always knew more than the teacher. i was already making websites by the time i was 14 so i was pretty irritated when the teacher try to explain to me how to make an image bigger or make a color picture be b+w… hahaha. whatever.
anyways about the photoshop question, it’s actually a series of lines with different opacities for each one. then after they’re all done i transformed them all together to make them have a curve instead of just straight diagnol lines ^_^
if you want the psd to the wallpaper ill be more than happy to upload it for you.

No it’s okay, I’m just wondering.
For some reason every time I try some line effects in Photoshop they never turn out as nice as some other people do it. Oh well.
I took a WWW class in school (we didn’t get to choose our courses since it was a set program) and it was sooo boring. I already finished the project that was due at the end of class in the beginning because we had to create a HTML tutorial website and I already had one online. I spent those 10 weeks surfing the net. Waste of money!

And about the cast-iron pan, I’m just going to bring a tin can and a bunson burner to cook eggs on top like like we did in Girl Guides back in the day. Talk about cheap and ghetto! LOL.

I used to never have to work out since I was a skinny toothpick as a kid but now working in an office, i need to work out so i can eat whatever the hell i want too. haha.
don’t fear being a failure at life – judging from the little i know about you on your site, you will succeed
I’ve been to cancun – its fun but I’d only go once. I’m going to the dominican republic in spring w/the boyfriend – we’re planning on doing the beach thing but also active stuff like horse back riding, scuba diving, & canyoning. Let me know what rance you end up going to!

I know! I use to be pretty skinny with a high metabolism too until I started going to school and sitting in front of a computer for 4-10 hours a day… and then getting an office job for 8 hours a day and developed a nasty gut! I got rid of it in 3 months when I finally got off my lazy ass though so it feels so much better and now I’m addicted to working out!
You should def go horseback riding on the beach with your boyfriend. It’s so romantic!

I’ve done the earphones thing too. But I feel really guilty when I hear someone talking to me and/or see them out the corner of my eye, so I end up taking them out of my ears and ask what they want. I guess it doesn’t work well for me. Although they’re good for eavesdropping in the lunch room. I’ve done that one before.

I’d eavesdrop too but there’s nothing much to eavesdrop about at my work. Girl-drama is funner than guy-drama.

Haha I’ve totally tried to ward people off with my earphones (which, at times, aren’t even connected to anything

And I love Wikipedia too! I use it to look for extra information about whatever we talked about in my American Social History class… Interesting stuff.

About NR two: People tend to think we’re skinny bitches because we work out a lot. In my case, people often look surprised when they see me drinking the REAL Coke, not the light version and eating cakes. Come on!
I love working out myself cause it feels so great on the body and cause it makes me feel fantastic afterward, but I also love food, and I won’t stop eating. It’s a matter of balance and prioritizing.

Actually a lot of people I see at the gym aren’t anorexic bitches (their not “fat” either, they’re just average)… I think all the women there work out to stay healthy not just get super skinny.
I love working out too. It’s so hard getting into the routine but once you get started, it’s easy to keep going. Good luck with yours!

I want bubble tea so bad! Your Sundays sound great. I haven’t just stayed in bed with the lover all day in ages and I miss it.
LOL at working out just to balance things out. I wish I could do that. I love good food as well, but it’s still easier for me to diet than to stay with a routine. I’d rather moderately eat healthy and moderately exercise.
I hope I get a puppy in the next few months! You blogging about Mochi makes me want one times a million more!

That’s good that you have the will-power to stay healthy though. I need some of that.
Omigosh you should get a puppy!! I never believed it but they REALLY make a difference in your life and just make people around the house happier in general.

I am just lucky to have mainly healthy tastes. I’d rather eat sushi (sashimi more than tempura and rolls) and kimchi than fried chicken. But I do love some totally gross stuff like spam!
I never wanted a puppy (or any pets) until I got serious with Donny. Now I’m all about settling and making a family. Just not a a baby yet. We just got moved in here and the 3 doors around us are 20-30 year old women with adorable pups. I want! I know that I’ll take care of it more than Donny (same as the chinchillas), but I think I’m OK with that.
