Inspired from a post from Mallvibes and also a dozen blog memes that I passed up.

  1. I can’t stand the feeling of wet hair on the back of my neck and back. If my hair is wet, it’ll be up in a towel until I blow-dry it. The good thing about this is that it adds volume to your roots with no products!
  2. I’m addicted to Mallvibes because it’s the best forum in the world with the best (and friendliest) members and a fun atmosphere. :) Plus that’s where I find all my shopping deals. This is probably the ONLY forum that I’ve ever been active in (I’m usually a lurker).

    Mallvibes.com

  3. Everytime I walk into Chapters, I HAVE to purchase a book (or ten). Yesterday I absentmindedly went into Chapters and Boyfriend was like, “why the hell are we here?” and I really had no idea… it was just pure instinct to go in when one is near.
  4. I never wear runners unless I’m going to the gym or have to walk A LOT. They make me feel so grubby! I giggle when I think back in highschool when everyone wore white runners with jeans (and then they would turn blue).
  5. My “secret” dream is to be a hair stylist and own a salon (while doing a little bit of freelancing for web/print on the side) which I will definitely pursue but not now because I want to continue to concentrate on designing for a couple more years.
  6. I prefer solitude. I’m quiet (unless I’m around people I know well and/or when I’m a drunken mess), I’m an introvert, I like being alone and doing things alone (eg. shopping— I absolutely CANNOT stand shopping with other people). Boyfriend is the only exception. Plus I get annoyed at people who are “too social” because they seem so needy and needy people are annoying. I’m such a hater.
  7. I’m not a girly-girl as much as a lot of other girls I know. I don’t always wear make up. I don’t like doing the hugging and kissing on the cheek thing everytime I see someone. I don’t squeal. I don’t like dancing/grinding with other girls at clubs like everyone else seems to do (I’m sorry but that just seems kinda slutty and a bad cry for attention from horn dogs if you do it all the time); I prefer to dance alone… away from eveyone else; preferably in front of a fan.
  8. I’m probably the most unatheletic person you can meet. Boyfriend plays on a dodgeball team with his friends and a bunch of their girlfriends and they asked why I don’t play and he said, “she doesn’t play sports… she’ll probably be afraid of the ball.” LMAO. I laughed so hard when I heard that (and just for the record, I’m not afraid of balls… I’m just lazy).
  9. My room walls are dark purple. I wanted black but my parents would’ve been super pissed off. I wanted red but I’m already a pretty angry person and the red walls would probably put me on a rampage. Just don’t ever paint my walls pink and I won’t kill you.

    My Room in 08/07

  10. I don’t bother with people who annoy me or is just plain weird as hell and makes me feel uncomfortable (what’s the point?). But otherwise, I think I’m a super nice person now (more than I was before) and although I may seem bitchy and annoyed at times, I’m willing to go out of my way for my good friends especially when they’re in need.

What a charming post <3! I just recently joined Mallvibes myself and I agree, people there are incredibly nice. I’ve yet to actually post anything (it takes a while for me to get out of my lurking phase with things), but I may soon…

I love just hanging out with my boyfriend and spending quiet time together and I can’t stand girly girls either. I can do the hugging thing with only a few girls (mostly my close girlfriends), and even then, it’s a little awkward because I’m not used to doing it- so when they come in for a hug, I’m all… Oh goddammit, okay… lol.

I love Chapters too, the atmosphere is just so calming and it’s never full of loud, obnoxious people (like in the mall). I haven’t really sat down and read a book lately though (sad face), I seem to just pick anything up. You have such a vast collection of books, I’m kind of jealous that you can fly through them! I guess I’m more of a romance person (minus the cheesy sex scenes, yuck).

    REPLY

You should start posting on MV.. and invite all your friends!! :P *shameless advertising!*

Girls are okay but I think if my friends and I were to be together all the time, we’d get soooo sick of each other and probably end up killing each other. Or maybe that’s just me.. I love them but I have so little patience because I enjoy being alone most of the time. LOL.

That’s true, people in Chapters always seem to be so pleasant and not stuck up and snobby like some of the people you see at the mall or on the streets, probably because everyone is reading or minding their own business!

    Hi Kootz!

I hate wet hair as well! I have to be drying it immediately after a shower. I can’t even stand having the towel on my head for more than 5 mins (because it also screws up my bangs).

As you know, I also love Chapters, and everytime I see it, I have to go in! It’s also the atmosphere! I just love being surrounded by books!

Can’t wait for the 15th till we all get to together with the girls! :)

    REPLY

You can always wet your bangs again afterwards (or spray some leave-in conditioner on it) so you can style them again! I want to get bangs too.. like real bangs but I don’t have the guts to do it!!

We should have a Chapters date one day… it would just be us sitting around and reading. Hahaha how geeky!

    REPLY

    Merissa

Omg…I don’t think I ever recall you having bangs! YOU SHOULD TOTALLY DO IT! lol. When you get tired of your hair colours and you’re stuck, and you don’t know what else to do with your hair, GET BANGS!

I wouldn’t mind being geeky for a day :) lol

I’ve just recently found your page and got hooked on your entries right away. I envy your dark purple walls, mine is the color you hate the most but I was young when I chose it..haha. Well anyways, I was wondering if you would recommend some good books that you have read recently..or an all time fav. book that you would recommend to everyone. I’m a big reader too.

    REPLY

Hair was my first choice too!! Except my parents disapproved but it’s okay, I guess I can always do it later. At least they didn’t force me to go to university where I would’ve had NO idea what I would study because I either wanted to do art of hair.

I feel we’re similar, but I usually hate being told by someone they think they’re like me so I guess that makes me a hypocrite.
Nice walls, now I want my room to be like that. I once knew a depressed girl who had her rooms painted red, all she would do is cry and cut herself all day - I’m pretty sure red is the color of rage too, so good idea you never got it done. I can see myself going insane at the though of red everywhere.
I fucking hate working out. My guy always says we should work out together but the thought of those anorexic girls going at the treadmills makes me gag every time - so I sit on my couch and munch on pop tarts all day instead.

    REPLY

Yeah I bet the red walls contributed to your friend being depressed and suicidal. :(

I learned all about color and emotions in my Color Theory class and it was pretty interesting. Check out this article if you’re interested:

I am super #6 too! And I’m not a hugging girly-girl. I HATE when people show up at my place unannounced - it makes me mad enough to kill. But the boyfriend could follow me around all day and it wouldn’t bother me. I want a family with him, but get nervous that they’ll bug me the way other people do when I have to be around them too long.

I wish I could do hair for a living! I am so awful at that stuff. One of my besties is a MUA/hair stylist and loves it and hooks me up. I kinda wanna go to beauty school just to learn even if I never do a thing on anyone other than myself once I graduate.

Your room is fucking *cute*! I wish my whole apartment was as cute as your room!

    REPLY

Your bestie is lucky… how long has she been doing it? I’m excited for hair school but not too excited about starting at the bottom again but then I guess that’s inevitable.

Hey, there’s your excuse to renovate your apartment. You and Donny should have a painting project.. that’d be fun! I can’t wait until my Boyfriend and I get our own place so I can decorate it (and make him do all the dirty work).

She graduated this year and started working at Toni & Guy straight out of school. She didn’t like it so she moved to Great Clips and actually makes more money there. She also does hair on the side (for reduced rates for friends like me! She’s done my hair the last few times I’ve had it cut) and does makeup for strippers! I think any experience would help you out, although I do know she was annoyed because she had to re-learn a better way to use scissors.

We always rent so we can’t paint our walls! Mots places anyway. We’re moving in February so I hope to do some way better design.

    REPLY

That’s awesome! I wish I was in her place right now. I’m still looking for a good hair school around here that won’t break my bank though… hopefully I’ll find some night classes so I can do it while I’m still working at my job (that way I can start right away) but I don’t think those exist. :o

Woo good luck with the moving! You must be excited!

I also cannot stand the feel of wet hair on my back. It’s just so gross! I don’t blow dry my hair but I always tie it up until it dries so I can straighten it… I hate leaving it down.

Oh and I can relate to not being athletic at all! My poor brother tried to get me to play football with him but that totally failed because that damn thing kept hitting my chest so hard so I gave up. :P

Haha you’re boyfriend’s comment on your aversion of sports got me laughing! I’m not a really sporty person either (rather untypical for a guy but heck), but I like exploring places and stuff like that. I prefer non-competitive activities because for some reason, I find that in competitive environment people are so sly and cunning. I hated that.

You’re not alone for being an introvert. I must admit that my social skills just suck - in fact, I rarely have any real life friends. My circle of friends just change as I hop from one place to another - like from high school to college and then to uni - and I rarely contact all my older friends. For some reason I find that watching movies alone is actually a fun experience because you wouldn’t have friends sitting next to you who were either repeating what is said on the screen or commenting on what’s going on heh.

Your room looks gorgeous! When I saw dark purple I was immediately reminded of the theme you have installed on your blog now :D teehee! Your bookshelf is so neatly arranged! You should take a look at mine - it’s a disaster! I couldn’t be bothered to clean it up very often since it gets messy after a few days :P

    REPLY

I agree, being alone rocks! Being out with friends is fun too but I think everyone has to have their alone time.. some just enjoy it more than others. Plus you’re more productive and get more things done. I like watching movies alone too then I don’t have to get annoyed when people talk… with the exception of scary movies then I have to watch it with someone. Hah.

Plus I don’t think you need A LOT of real life friends. You just need a a bunch of GOOD ones. Quality > Quantity.

My shelf is nothing like that now (the picture is from August’07)!! It’s soo messy and double-stacked now that I have a hard time finding most of my books. I was just looking for my Marie Antoinette book I just recommended in my latest blog entry and couldn’t find it so I had to go online to find what I needed from it. :|

    REPLY

You’re right about the real life friends thing. I guess it’s the relationship that matters and not the number. Somehow I try to avoid being friends with those people who are horribly popular - so far, most of these kind of people I’ve encountered have egos that are so huge that they need constant stroking and boot-licking to be sustainable. I never liked people who thinks they’re the king of the world. Even Bill Gates is humbler than them.

Being alone helps me to self evaluate, and do things that I like :) most of my photoshoots were done when I was travelling alone. For some reason I don’t really like another person travelling with me as I take photos because he’ll only want to get to the destination and hurry me all the time… lol!

I hope you’re going to do something about your shelf - and restore it’s golden Augst 07 glory :D

I’m totally the same with #6,7,8, and 9!

I’m an quite introverted as well and sometimes I don’t feel much like socializing. And I hate it when people try to hard. I also don’t typically like hugging people haha. I don’t dance and I don’t play sports. I like tennis, when I’m not lazy =P

I wanted to paint my walls black! And red! But my parents would have hated it, and red would make me too angry at times. My walls are a pale pinkish brown =P hahha.
