Last month, J wrote an entry about what are you most comfortable in. Yes, I know that was a long time ago but this draft has been sitting in my dashboard for that long.
Like her, I’m also a sucker for trends but that doesn’t mean I only wear things that are supposedly “trendy.†In fact, I still wear my UGGs (*gasp*) from time to time even though everyone hates them because they are so warm and comfy. I know the weather isn’t right but I still wear my ballet flats on my lazy days and those nights I stay at Boyfriend’s and leave my boots at home by accident… BUT I have a valid excuse since I work in an office environment and park underground so I never actually step outside. HEHE.
I live in denim and/or black leggings tucked into boots (I’ve officially gone boot crazy this season and tripled my collection) and long tank tops (I always stock up on the lacy ones from Dynamite). For the winter, I love my cardigans and tunic sweaters. I’m obsessed with accessories like scarves, flashy necklaces, bangles and cocktail rings so my collection is growing. Call me boring but my favorite colors shades are black and white. Maybe in spring and summer I’ll go a little crazier with colors but I love my neutrals and purples for fall and winter. I would say my style is classy and conservative.

I’m totally LOVING this wet, cold weather in Vancouver right now despite what everyone says because I get to indulge in scarves and jackets (and maybe it’s the weather, but it seems like there is less traffic on the road when I go home after work). I also bought my first pair of leather gloves last weekend; I have to buy a new pair every year because I always seem to lose them when the season is over …don’t even talk about wool gloves! So far, my favorite purchase this season are my purple boots but too bad I can’t wear them around Boyfriend because he’s a typical Vietnamese guy (a.k.a. SHORT — or rather, the same height as me).
My style is way more conservative now than it ever has been. I like tight, form-fitting clothes that cover up my body but I remember those old days when low cut tops, super-low (but not butt-crack) jeans and short-shorts were in …but then I also weight 20lbs less. It’s a little disturbing to think about that because we were little high school jailbaits back then (*ahem* skanks). Whenever I wear low-cut tops now, I have to have a scarf to cover any boobage that may be visible (I don’t know why but I pity girls with their stuff hanging out all over the place when I see them on the streets nowadays) and I wear long tops or tunic sweaters that go past the hip because I tend to gag when I see butt cleavage on others. It’s a must because I own a couple pairs of Rocks in Jaguer cut and you never know what may happen when you sit down. I also prefer a pair of jeans and a sexy top to go clubbing over the mini-skirts and dresses that all my friends [and I use to] wear.
Sigh. I’m getting old and fat.
But on the contrary, I dressed up as a mermaid this Halloween amongst all my friends who were in skanky, revealing costumes and I felt soo overdressed it wasn’t even funny (and it was way too hot!). LOL. Next year, I’m going to be a slutty Marie Antoinette or a ghost (white sheet with eye holes).
What is your style?

My favorite is the skinny jeans and the ugg boots. I love them so much that I couldn’t resist buying them for Christmas last year. All the others are also good but the jeans really stands out when worn with the boots.

awesome taste, i dont find jeans too comfortabe but you can look good in them anyday of the year.

I guess my style would be just comfortably plain. I like wearing jeans year round, with either tank tops in the summer or sweaters & pullovers in the winter.

I don’t buy tops that are so tight that will show off my ribcage area. I swear. I don’t like my ribcage. it’s weird.

i have to wear corporate half the week (like ur slacks and blazers and black pumps..ugh) but since i love color, i always put on a jewel toned top under my blazers. un-corporate days, ul find me in jeans and graphic tees and sometimes ballet flats (im inlove with my gold ballet flats). i never wear skirts..heehee. and yeah,i always have a pair of flip flops with me and a hoodie. ^__^

*sigh* I love everything in that square… I don’t know the word to describe my style. I have seen it, and I know it’s defined, but…. I don’t know the name, lol.

I’m a little bit country and a little bit rock’n'roll. LOL sike sike. I don’t have a certain style, Katy. However, I can say it’s my style is indescribable. I will rock American Eagle with Timberland boots with hoop earrings. i enjoy more than anything a comfy attire. UGgs boots are a must with a graphic tee, low-rise jeans and a scarf. or boyfriend jeans with a “boy beater”, bangles… and your favorite… a cocktail ring. Fashion is suppose to be fun and not all that serious and so many peopleout there take it take way (esp. these fashion mags and fashion stations – ugggg).
Love, a couple of weeks ago you wrote a blog about some boots you bought for cheap. I am trying to find that enry, but I can’t cause I’m on my phone. What site was that?

Haha, I always feel like I’m getting old and fat but I’m not even 23 yet and don’t even weigh 120 lbs! You’re beautiful so shut up.
Speaking of beautiful, this theme is beautiful!! I am jealous of your skills!!

The purple boots look awesome. I really like this post and I think your tastes are great
Not that I have any boobs to even have cleavage but seeing voluptuous girls leaving their stuff hanging all over in low-cut tops hurt my eyes every time. haha.

Since coming back from Japan, I think I have learnt a lot about my own sense of style… now, I am more comfortable in baggy and loose clothes than skin tight, and the need to show that I can be thin. What you show is definitely more of my style… I agree, I am loving this warm-cold weather… I am pulling out all stops to wear my wonderful collections of scarves, and a ton of nice jackets!

I dont wear tops that hug my body, thats for sure. I like tunics or tops that have a ~drop~. Im most comfortable in a tunic or a pretty top and a skirt or shorts or a cute mini dress. I tend to wear tops that are low-cut because I hate my neck (I think it’s short) so low necklines or V-necks work for me. Plus, I don’t have boobs lol so there’s nothing to see.
I used to wear a lot of pink but now, most my clothes are dark blues, grays, and green. It’s like pink is too…kiddie now
I wish we had better weather here cos I’d like to appropriately wear scarves and coats lol.

I wear lots of black and white too!
My personal style…hm. I love high-waisted, kind of puffy skirts; plain, straight leg dark wash jeans (JBrand!!!); loose, blousey, kind of gauzy tanks; oversized cardigans and sweaters; classic peacoats; plain american apparel tees; scarves; berets. As for shoes I wear lots of flats and boots (flat ones though, because I can’t for the life of me wear heels for longer than an hour, let alone walk around all day on campus with them). I also am big on wearing my Uggs in the winter, they’re too comfy for me to let go!
I like to say my style is a mix of Parisian chic, classic Audrey Hepburn, with a dash of vintage inspired mish mash. It’s really all over the place to be honest. But I love that I’ve gotten more into style recently, because I used to be such a little hobo in my Lululemons and TNA hoodies.
I totally probably wrote too much, but you know…I have a tendency to ramble. Haha

I use to sport Lululemon and TNA way back in the day too. I think it’s okay if you were still in school and just needs to be comfortable rather than a fashionista but I still think back to that time and want to scream at myself. Ahahaha. I remember my black Lululemon pants, white runners (Shox?!) and a zip up was my usual outfit.
And it’s okay, I like long comments and ramblers.

My friend was Marie Antoinette this year! Haha it was fun
Uggs. Ugh. I love ‘em too. Haha
I was a lot skankier freshman year of high school. LOL. That was disgusting… But now, it’s all about class, baby!
I don’t think I have a specific style. Classy and conservative seems about right but I can also be really sporty and, sometimes, quite urban. I can even be sort of hippie/bohemian. For the most part, we were the same kinds of clothes. I LOVE scarves and jackets and jeans and boots.
By the way, I have IE version 7

‘Classy and Conservative’ totally describes me! I’m totally all about comfort at home but when I go out I tend to wear heels and a nice top with jeans. I’m getting more into jackets and accessories lately and I’ve been recently looking for a pair of black leather gloves (with hopefully cashmere inside)! And ain’t gotta worry about boobage hea!!
. Black is my favorite color to wear, but I’ve been getting more greys and navy blues lately hehe.

P.s Oh, and I source OUT of New Zealand. Like, Malaysia, Canada and Singapore. I know it sounds really pathetic, but me and my sister have a real self complex about people wearing the same stuff as us. These days I have less issues because I can buy whatever I want with the chingaling…
BUT.,
There is the odd time when… Your in a food court eating some pretty low class wontons with your best friend and you get all..
“OH.MY.GOD”
Because someone else has the same shirt.

Hey!!! I’m loving your website! Especially this entry.
Well, what would I say is my style…
“I like to look like no one else” is my style. And if I see anyone wearing a shirt, exactly like mine, I’ll go up to them and totally be a bitch to them.
Okay, the first part was realistic. But the last part wasn’t.
In reality I just get real pissed off…
So I never wear the shirt again.
My secret is online shopping…
So no one can have my shiet!

Ahahaha that’s so funny… I’d be soo intimidated if someone did that to me.
I like online shopping because so then a lot of my friends don’t have the same stuff as them… but then a lot of them now are starting to do it too so it’s not as effective as before.

XD Nice style. Very tasteful.
My style’s . . . well boring. I do not like tight clothes, so I just wear loose (sort of baggy) jeans, tee shirt, with a plaid-kind of collared button down shirt left open, with a jacket or a hoodie when it’s cold and slip ons with socks or sneakers.
. . . Yes I have no fashion sense.

That’s not true… you still have your own style and that’s what counts!

I love my denim too, I have just over 20 pairs- usually I love wearing them with some graphic tees and a long cardigan. I know what you mean about being more revealing back in high school, now I realize it’s more about class than trash
So now I wear a lot of darker neutrals, half of my closet is black!
I was so against UGGS, I thought they were hideous… until I got my first pair and I wear them to death; I go to school at SFU and we have our own climate up there. I usually buy some Wilfred tanks from Aritzia (they’re so thin and soft) as my layering pieces then nowadays, I just pop on whatever I can grab in my closet. I’m pretty laid back with my style, somewhat similar to yours. Lately, I’ve been into buying more shoes, bags and accessories rather than clothes though.

Ooh I love Wilfred sweaters!
I think with school (and for everyone who takes transit), you guys have an excuse to go somewhat grubby because you can’t dress up all the time right.

I used to sort of dress up for school but now I hardly care. I wear some sweats and some hoodies here and there, I have no real excuse to dress up for anything! But god, i love being comfortable

We have pretty similar styles except that I don’t wear white. Hahaha. In Canada, I’d wear slim fit jeans tucked into my boots during the late fall and winter. Most of the time they go with long sleeve tops or turtle necks. During spring and summer, I’d wear dresses or pleated skirts with a dressier top to look formal and casual at the same time (although mostly blacks, grays and the occasional pink).
Now that I’m working in an equatorial country, I’ve just been wearing pencil skirts with semi-casual tops – with the occasional jacket for meetings. All in blacks or grays.
I’m turning into a boring corporate slave. Sigh.
To sum it up, my style is the “I’m just going shopping, but I wanna still look classy” look. I wouldn’t ever be caught dead with tee shirts and jeans with sandals. Hahaha.

I actually don’t wear white as much anymore because black makes you look slimmer.
I use to wear white a lot when I was actually skinny though. Ahahahah.
Corporate slaves can look hot too! It takes a little more effort but will make you stand out in the end.

i cant explain my style… but those clothins r cute n comfy too! im a bit of everything! lol

I can’t really dress up to go to school….cause I’m always cutting wood or sanding stuff….so everything would get ruined. But outside of school….I love trying different styles~ I love dressing casually….and emphasizing on one little thing…like a cute necklace….or shoes…or a scarf….I LOVE SCARFS. I am looking for a pair of boots…haven’t had time to go shopping yet….I like flat boots….cause I can’t walk in heels haha~ I love mixing random pieces together…..sometimes I fail…but it’s still fun to try new things~

my comfort is either PJs… or skinny jeans, ugg boots, long tank top and a zip up hoodie… no time for variation or fancy things when im (always) late for school D:

i love this post! we have very similar styles – most of my wardrobe consists of black and white items. once in a while, i’ll throw in a jewel-tone (to bring out my complexion).
and that handbag you have in the pic is hot shit! what brand is it? it’s very YSL-ish.
