My Kinda Weekend
Books, Boyfriend, Fashion, Hair & Make-Up, Friends & Family, Weekends
Firstly, I’m sure if you follow my blog, you’ll know how much I preach about my hatred for skinny jeans. I guess I should clarify something… I only can’t stand skinny jeans on unskinny people when they wear it with flats or Converse shoes!!! I think some people can pull it off but a lot of them can’t. Skinnies with boots are okay because they’re tucked in and skinnies with stilettos are sexy if you have the legs for it. SO I guess I don’t hate skinnies entirely… hopefully you guys don’t hate me that much! 8)
This weekend I…
- Took the kids to EA’s Halloween party (for kids) at Stanley Park. I was thinking it was going to be lame (shh I’m just kidding) but t’was fun, the kids had a blast, the magician even made me laugh and the snacks were yummy… plus the best cupcakes in the world were present. *slurp
- Sat outside in the freezing cold with the niece and nephew to watch Boyfriend’s soccer game. Well the longest I concentrated on the game was about 20 seconds so I don’t know if you consider that “watching.” We went to the playground instead.
- Bummed around Boyfriend’s house and finished The Sword of Shannara trilogy (hrm, I need to get a life). It was very reminiscent of Lord of the Rings but I give it a 10/10: LOVED IT!! Niece: Guess what Auntie Katy, my book has 84 pages and I’m on chapter 2! How many pages does yours have? Me: 1200…
- The good thing was that Boyfriend willingly slaved away and cooked for me all weekend while I stayed in and enjoyed my book. I lover him. HEHEHE.
- Ordered some books online because you can’t go wrong with $2 books at Chapters! I hate it when I don’t have time to read, but I love it because I do (at the moment).
Hmmm… this is my kinda weekend.
*Figuring out what Boyfriend can be this Halloween…
Nephew: I know Chu-Loa, you can be a booger and then I can pick you out!”
*Later on after we told him he was funny so he tried another one but failed…
Nephew: You can be my butt and I can poop you out!
Boyfriend: How can you poop me out?*After someone suggested he should be the Burger King king or a chicken or a tree…
Niece: Chu-Loa… if you’re a tree, dogs will pee on you…
*Out of nowhere…
Niece: Chu-Loa… boo!
Boyfriend: What?
Niece: *gets mad* You’re suppose to be scared!!!!
Boyfriend: Oh. Ahhhhhhhhh! It’s so cute because they say it so matter-of-factly. Hehehe.
Anyway, Crystal suggested I do a post on bags since I’ve never written a post about them… but then I’m not a huge bag-person (yet) *gasp* so there wouldn’t be much to write about; maybe in a couple gazillion years when I can justify spending $1000+ on a purse.
But here goes: I don’t care much for brands as long as it looks good but my bags have to be huge since I carry around a shizzload of stuff with me and usually has to fit a very thick and heavy book because of my geeky nature (which Boyfriend doesn’t seem to like much because I don’t listen to his babbling when I’m reading). When I DO get a new bag I usually end up carrying it around for like 2 months before switching because I’m too lazy to move my stuff. I don’t like Juicy Couture bags because the designs, colors and the fabric are too teenybopper-ish for my taste. I don’t like LV monogram bags because I prefer [their] leather bags that DON’T have their logo plastered all over although I’m guilty because I have Coach purses with their logo all over it, BUT all those purses were gifts; I wouldn’t waste my hard-earned dollaz on them myself although if you’d like to buy one for me, I’ll still use it… ahaha. So here’s my little post excerpt on bags, Crystal.

Awww, don’t those kids look adorable!
I never used to dress up for Halloween, never bothered with the hype…however was forced to either dress up in a halloween costume or wear pink for a Breast Cancer campaign thing for week..I chose to wear pink! (Though I hate it).
And..I am actually guilty of the wearing skinny jeans with flats and OCCASIONALLY converse – but mostly flats. They’re comfy!

They look adorable in their costumes. I’m actually going to take my niece & nephew trick or treating because I’m a sucker for free candy! I’m assuming 80% of their candy bags will go to me. Granted, they don’t really like candy to begin with & they are far too young to eat a large amount of it.

LOL. Katy that excert on hadbags were great. Now, I think you should do one on skinny jeans.
Your niece and nephew are so adorable. the words that come out their mouths these days. If I had a camcorder strapped onto me 24/7, I’d capture pricelss and god-awful moments.
You know, last year I went through this buy-a-book-when -you finish-this-one stage. I need to get back in the hang of this again.

The conversation between your niece, nephew and your boyfriend just cracked me up
they are such adorable kids! Awww!
Speaking of reading, I hate it when I suddenly crave for books and I don’t have enough time on hand to do so. My book cravings always come at the wrong time – when I rushed to buy The Devil Wears Prada and White Oleander last year, that was within a week of my college finals and I still managed to spend half a day reading TDWP before giving it up for my studies. Sheesh.
Have fun, and happy Halloween!

I wish my brother worked at ea but another company downtown.. Looks like you guys had a blast, then again when isn’t stanley park fun?
I’m not into bags as much, but there is a company on the island that makes some sweet bags. You might be interested in.

Aww, the kiddies look cute!
I like big bags as long as they’re not bulky and hurt my shoulder! I’ve been using the same Dooney forever because of my lack of cash flow. I think bebe bags are the best!

OMG lol, the bibi boy is a shark!!!! So cute!
I need big bags, too, because I carry around a lot of shit. Currently, Ive been using the same gray, Monogrammed RL bag for a month. It’s not designer so I dont feel bad using it daily.

I love the pics of you and your niece and nephew! They’re so adorable, it makes me miss dressing up as anything as a little kid and being told I was cute no matter what lol.
I totally agree with you on the bags, not only the fact that the majority of Juicy and LV bags are stupidly overpriced, but there are so many fakes that you wouldn’t even know what’s what. I love me some bags too! Nice, big and sturdy ones

I own a few purses with their logos all over them too… and they were all gifts! So I won’t make fun of you and your Coach purse (even though I passionately despise Coach. Haha)
The kids look so cute! I’m glad you had a blast with them
Oh and you have to tell us about Schindler’s List after you read it. The movie is one of my favorites ever but I don’t know if I should get the book.

I miss hanging out with kids! They are just so honest and blunt, which is nice for a change when compared to adults you encounter on a daily basis

Oh my gosh, the kiddies are so adorable! Especially when they (I think) called your boyfriend “uncle”?
And I agree about having not enough time to read. It sucks -_-
