Travel, Art and… Eyelids.

Everybody been’s asking about eyelid glue. Here’s a video of how it works and I SWEAR it’s not as gross as it looks and it’s not painful at all! I’ve heard stories that if you use it daily, you’ll eventually get double eyelids but I’ve also heard of stories of sagging skin because you stretch it out everytime you pull the glue off. Unfortunately for me, I’m so fricking lazy that I only use this stuff like once a month. LOL.

Anyway, Oregon trip plans are good (for now, just waiting for something to mess up a day of two before we leave) after a week of wanting to kill myself.

Boyfriend is going to Vegas with his friends in September but I decided not to go because it’s one month before my 21st birthday and I don’t want to take any time off work. I told him he can do WHATEVER HE WANTS there (gamble, go to strip clubs/clubbing, look at girls, etc.) as long as there is no touching of other girls (and guys) involved… and maybe not eat as much since I hear he’s training himself for the buffets (he is the king of buffets) which is totally gross. Lol. But anyway I’m encouraging him to have fun and forget about me that week because when he comes home, he’ll have to face my constant nagging and mood swings for the rest of his life (and because I have 120% trust in him). ♥ God help him. Plus I don’t want him to be like certain guys who are obliged to be with their naggy girlfriends 24/7. Hah.

Speaking of Vegas, I never really understood the hype about it and why EVERYONE wants to go when they turn 21. I considered it for fun but never seriously; I’d rather waste my money on a trip where I can mingle with a wealth of cultural and historical experiences. Vacation spots like Hawaii, the Caribbean, Florida, etc. sparks like a 10% interest in me; it’s not like I won’t go but I’d rather go visit places like Egypt, Rome, North Korea, Afghanistan and/or anywhere in the Middle East, etc. because they either have a rich history that fascinates me or because the place touches me with the current events happening there.

Where would you guys like to go on vacation?

Since we’re on the topic of vacations, I’m so excited for our plans to Asia next year! I think we are going to leave either in late January or on Christmas Day with his family to Vietnam and stay there for a week of two and then hopefully go to Hong Kong, Bangkok, Taipei, Seoul, Phnom Penh, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, Bali, Singapore, Phuket and a bunch of other places but I doubt we would have enough time. Boyfriend wants to stay a couple days in each so we don’t get sick of it and would still have stuff to see when we go to Asia again which totally makes sense (and is something that I would’ve never though of). I’m the most excited about Phnom Penh (Angkor Wat is one of my top places to see which is about 5 hours away), Vietnam (I just discovered this awesome designer in Saigon) and Seoul (home of the Korean dramas and plastic surgery!). I told Boyfriend I’m gonna get my eyelids done in Korea and that he couldn’t do anything to stop me and he believed me (I think), but are you kidding me? I don’t want to recover during my vacation.

Next year, hopefully I can convince Boyfriend to visit Africa with me if he decides not to go to Europe. For me, Europe can wait another 5 years but Africa needs to come now!! We chose Asia this year because Boyfriend wanted to go see his grandpa in Vietnam. Aww.

Vegas really does have it’s own charm to it. I guess what I particularly LOVE about Vegas is the general excitement that the entire atmosphere brings. People in Vegas are totally over-the-top there to have fun, and you definitely feel that spirit as soon as you step foot on the Strip, from the uplifting party music to tropical cocktails, etc. And age 21 is the first age you can truly experience Vegas (as opposed to any other type of vacation), which is why everyone wants to do it at 21 ;)

As for where I want to go on vacation… my mother and I are actually currently planning a trip to Africa for when I graduate from grad school in 2 years. We want to do a 14-day safari that includes chimpanzee trekking. I soooo cannot wait, but it’s going to be extremely expensive. I would also like to do Asia one day of course… specifically Thailand and China, but Africa (Tanzania) will be my next ultra big trip!

That’s true… I usually don’t care that much about partying until the time comes or until I’m actually doing it (because if I were to plan a big trip, I wouldn’t think of going just to party)… but I WILL go to Vegas (one day) AFTER I turn 21 to party. :)

I love smashingmagazine, it’s one of the first sites I go to first thing at work.

And OMG, lucky you, I wanna tour Asia. Right now, for vacation, I’d love to hit the beach for a month, but ideally, I’d love to go to some quaint Italian town and some major European cities. Sigh.

Yeah we’re gonna go hit up the Phillipines too if we have time! I can’t wait!

OMG! So I’m going to Vegas in a couple of weeks and I didn’t really want to go because I’m only working part-time and starting school and I wanted to use the money for school clothes. LOL. But he really wanted me to go so he even bought me the ticket which he hardly ever spends that much money on me. I really was looking forward to having a few days off from him and doing some pampering for myself. Like I tell everyone, I’m the guy and he’s my girlfriend. LOL!!!

I totally agree. I rather go to some where cultured! My cousin went to this high school world tour thing and they got to go around Europe and he said he had the best time in Europe. They went to the museums and places where the Jewish people got murdered. He said it was so sad but what a great experience. At the same time going there would be great but the living is tough. He told me that water and electricity goes out at a certain time. So that kind of freaks me out.

Hopefully in 2010 we can go to Japan. Since that’s where I want to go for our honey moon! (OMG I typed out horny moon first. HAHA.) I hope you guys have fun and all that stuff!

I’m finally starting to get RSS feeds again! Argh. Stupid updates. LOL.

LOL I tell everyone I wear the pants in the relationship too!! AHAHAHA…. Well it’s all about us girls and we should be making all the decisions right? :P

I think one of my regrets in high school was taking apart in the trips (eg. to Europe, Africa and Mexico) that I could’ve gone on but I didn’t. :(

Letting boys be boys.. we have that in common. As long as there is no touching, I’m fine with that.

I know what you mean about Vegas being such a big deal for everyone who’s 21. A lot of what Vegas has doesn’t really appeal to me but I already know that my parents think I SHOULD go there when I turn 21. Haha I’m sure your boyfriend will have fun though. =)

Oooh… Africa. I want to go there too! As for where I want to go on vacation, my sister and I are talking about going to Greece next year… I really want to go to Santorini. My mom thinks we should go to England to visit our family there and that will be really nice but we’ll have to see about that (financially) next year :P

Why are some Asian girls SO obsessed with eyelids? Maybe it’s because I don’t really know any Asian girls without visible eyelids, but I dun geddit. It’s especially gross (well, I’ve heard, I’ve never actually seen it myself) if they get surgery because when they close their eyes you can SEE the cut and/or scar.

I’m jealous of your Asia plans! One of my goals is to basically travel the world, so I’d like to literally vacation everywhere, but I suppose if I had to pick just one place I’d pick Italy (or all over Europe, if I could pick a whole continent).

Oh, and I didn’t realize those were contact lens attachments; I thought they were tears at first… :P

    REPLY

Well it’s like how everyone is obsessed with boob implants, nose jobs, make up, clothes… it makes people feel better. Some girls have real reasons to get it done (eg. saggy/heavy eye lids that impair their vision)…. but then I don’t. I just don’tlike how they make my eyes look small and how eye shadows don’t look good. But then I don’t care what other people think and I will eventually do it anyway… it really annoys me when people go with that.. “ohh but you don’t need it” speech. People need to mind their own business! :0

I just came back from Vegas…..I hate that place. I’m not into clubs and stuff like that…so maybe that’s why. But really….it’s such a boring place….and there is so much cigarette smoke everywhere…ugh.
There are so many countries that I would like to visit. Hopefully next summer…I can go back and visit Sweden for the first time since we moved here.

What the hell??!! I wear contacts everyday….and I would never never ever want that crap hanging….contacts are a hassle already….

Holy God, that little red thing that the girl in the video used to make the eyelid was frightening! Thank god I already have double eyelids haha, there’s no way I’d be able to do this!

Those contact lens things aren’t really doing much for me. I don’t think they look particularly cool, or not cool enough to stick those things in my eyes, haha. Ugh, your travelling sounds so exciting! One of my dreams is to travel the world! My dream vacation would be Greece or Italy, I think.

I use to go to Vegas a lot growing up so it was never the place I wanted to go when I was 21. I also don’t see why it’s the BIG thing to do when you turn 21 either..

That glue is ridiculous. I just spent the week at an adoptees campout with the boyfriend where Asian girls all coveted my eyes. WHY?? I know it isn’t wanting to be white, but when we all sat around and did makeup I was super jealous of the effects they could pull off while i was stuck shadowing my dumb crease. If I put eye color anywhere visible with my eye open I look like a hooker & 1/2.

I really wanted to go to Vegas for my 21st. The BF wanted to gamble & I just wanted to enjoy the sun & some perks of nice hotels. Couldn’t afford it though. I’ve been when I was 14 and loved the weather & atmosphere even tho I was too young to do anything.

I guess we all just want what others have. It just irritates me when people are embarrassed about their flaws and get embarrassed when others point it out… for example, when they get plastic surgery and then DENY getting it after. When I get my eyelids done, I’ll probably tell the world (not like I give a crap of what they think anyway). Lol.

As for your eyeshadow dilemma.. I guess you just need to experiment with different techniques to apply it on your eye. IMO, my eye make up looks sooo much better when I have a double crease… maybe you think yours would look better with a single crease. :P
