Speaking about news, one of my clients, NewspaperDirect, gave me a free unlimited one-year subscription to their Press Display website (which is an online newspaper kiosk with 600+ newspapers and magazines)!! She told me it was worth over $300 which totally rocks my socks because I’m a HUGE news fanatic and browse news sites everyday. Of course, you can check out the Press Display homepage for free though (you just need a subscription to see the rest of the pages and the archives).

Okay, well it’s not exactly free; more like a bribe… but what the hell? It’s “free money” (for now). $100 may not be a lot but you can do a lot with it… like buy 5 Mac eye shadows or 30 ice cream sundaes from McDs.

I, for one, am going to spend it on KFC and zucchini sticks.

So anyway, we went out for dinner last week and one of my friends asked N, M and I why are we always so angry and was that why we are so close [as friends]. We couldn’t help but to laugh because it’s soo true. We grew up together since elementary school and we are 3 very angry girls— well we weren’t angry 24/7, it’s just when we were mad, we’re MAD. The difference was that 2 of us always let our anger out to whomever and whenever while the other is usually just angry when she’s very “passionate” about something (eg. despises specific individuals although she usually has a reason to).

I’m not sure about everyone else, but I don’t get as pissed off at people as I did when I was in high school (our high school was filled with a lot of unbearable and immature people— ironically this probably includes us as well.. LOL). One of my friends (same one who asked us the question above) shared almost every class with me in our grade 11 year and she still tells everyone that I was either angry (and ranting about someone or something) or asleep in every single one of them and I can’t deny it because I think it was true. Ahahaha. When I think back, I feel really bad for putting my friend through all that anger since she was a pretty positive and calm person. :S Sorry D*. One of my New Years resolution this year was start being nicer to people and at least TRY to be genuine about it and I’m surprised because this the only resolution that I’ve kept for this long… well I’m trying hard at least. :P So I’m glad to say that I’m a happier and more positive person than I was… 6 months ago.

Anyway, I’m just burning time because I was called into work to fix a bug and just waiting around for a bit just in case. Good thing we were having a BBQ (+ UFC night) at Boyfriend’s house because it’s only 5 minutes away. The thing I LOVE about Boyfriend’s BBQs is that he always prepares an OVERWHELMING amount of food; buckets and buckets of marinated lemongrass chicken wings, ribs, pork hash (I don’t know what’s so good about this but the guys absolute love it), hot dogs (his family usually don’t do hot dogs but I made him get it because what’s a BBQ without em?) and lots more. Plus Boyfriend is the best griller ever; there’s no such thing as raw and/or burnt food under his watch. Of course, I stalked up on veggies & dip, cherry tomatoes, cheese and pepperoni chunks and Alize for his nephew and I to munch on (minus the Alize for him). Too bad we were pretty much full before the first batch was finished grilling.

Gonna stop rambling now. Back to the foooood (maybe some dessert?).

NO to Touchscreen!

Technology & Gaming

Tofino Blackberry Touch? Unless the Qwerty Keyboard stays as well, HELL NO! I never understood the hype with “touch screen” iPhone. My experiences with touchscreen phones in the past was just plain annoying, especially for text messaging, and even with the features and sleek UI of the iPhone, I would wait for a later generation to come out… maybe even one with a Qwerty keyboard? :P As much as I love Apple [for their computer products], I choose the Blackberry over the iPhone because of it’s lovely and easy-to-use keyboard and I pray to god they don’t get rid of that for future models. Even if they do add a touchscreen along with the keyboard, I wouldn’t be phased by it because although it does look cool, I’m not that vain (only in other ways)! So please RIM, no touch!! And please, design a sexier interface!

One thing I AM uber excited for is the Blackberry Bold.

For customers seeking a smartphone that makes a bold statement, Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM) today introduced the admirable BlackBerry® Bold™ smartphone. Crafted from premium materials, inside and out, that radiate elegance with a dramatic presence, the BlackBerry Bold is designed to give business professionals and power users unprecedented functionality and performance in an intuitive BlackBerry® smartphone. It is the first BlackBerry smartphone to support tri-band HSDPA high-speed networks around the world and comes with integrated GPS and Wi-Fi®, as well as a rich set of multimedia capabilities. From its lustrous black exterior, satin chrome finished frame and stylish leather-like backplate, to its stunning display, sophisticated user interface and newly designed full-QWERTY* keyboard, the BlackBerry Bold smartphone is a symbol of accomplishment and aspiration.
