OMG OMG OMG I’m just sitting here in front of my desk at work and I want to jump around like a little girl.
I hope it wasn’t an imposter or one of those automated messages (because why would she come here out of the billion of blogs on the internet) but nevertheless I feel sooooooo flattered. This is totally the highlight of my day!!
Thanks Anne!!

Thanks for your kind words about my books. I think the classy intellectual words for us lovers of castles is “post modern.’ I’m learning that my adjective laden prose is “post modern.’” And when it comes to music, I’m wrapping myself in Vivaldi and Mozart, and digging up Amadeus to watch it for the fifteenth time. I think the Vampire Chronicles hit a nerve because people crave beauty, and we see around us in the modern world a kind of anti-beauty that can be a bit sterile. However, I must put in a word for the blue eyed blues of Bonnie and Delaney. That is really gorgeous stuff. —- Again my thanks for your kind comments. Katrina left the best parts of New Orleans still standing, and with oaks spreading their branches over the Grecian columned townhouses as always….Much love, Anne Rice.

Oh, and in the summer the beach is still windy and it never really gets above like 70 degrees ON the beach most days. The water is always totally freezing, but I have been known to jump in sometimes anyway when there are towels handy, or even renting a wet suit and boogie boarding.
Seaside is my favorite tourist-y town. Rockaway is where me and the boyfriend go but it’s hella mellow and like I said, we stay at shanty places.

I hope it was her! It would be such a douche move to post as an imposter! But the comment seemed to educated to be someone as lame and ignorant as to be posing IMO. Awesome! If my Chuck Palahniuk (my fave author) commented on my blog I would lose my freaking mind. Maybe I’ll write a post about him…
Re: BodyCandy.com >> The belly jewelry is iffy and the regular jewelry like earrings tend to suck. But body jewelry such as hoops and studs for lips, large gauges and plugs are great. I got super great plugs for my stretched ears for like $8 for the pair, when they sell them at the mall for $30. Plus the free shipping for orders over $20 makes it great to stock up on extra jewelry. But yeah, I would definitely look at the size of the belly jewelry and avoid dangly earrings (both of those items I ordered and they ended up being way smaller than I expected).

I like what she said about New Orleans. It’s quite true. And as I sat through Katrina in ‘05 I was so relieved to discover that fact as well.

Yes, be assured it was me. I did catch your blog today and thought you were saying interesting things. I’m loving communicating in this fashion. And you can check my website and see the email address listed there. Thanks again for the interesting discussion. Anne.

That is so cool! I do think that author’s check things out sometimes. Nick Hornby (my favorite author) requested me as friend on MySpace, and I have it set so that I can’t be found in searches by interest or anything except my name and location. So it was just as random and just as exciting.

Ooooh my gosh!!!!!!
Like a loser, I should make a comment about how much I love Harry Potter books or how much I love my art history texts and pray that JK Rowling or Roy C. Craven stops by my sorry excuse of a blog. Haha!! You’re so lucky–and apparently a celebrity now, at least in my opinion.
Oh yeah, maybe Anne Rice made a google search of her name and thoroughly looked through each page, only to find the awesome, sweet, and amazing things you said about her. You’re too nice!
